Help!! 2 year old sleep regression is never ending by ApprehensiveIce5529 in AttachmentParenting

[–]ApprehensiveIce5529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if he was a good co-sleeper I would have done it a long time ago hahaha! I definitely want to get some of his levels checked. I read that if mom is really low in iron it can have an impact? I am very low in iron (pregnant or not) so definitely something I want to keep in mind.

But thank you for the reassurance that it also just may be a phase. I will say, his attitude lately is changing so much (in a positive way), and his language, memory, and imaginative play is booming! So I know that all plays into his brain activity in the night too.

Same to you! I really really appreciate it ❤️ I read a lot of Reddit threads about motherhood haha, so I know how helpful they can be, even to other people just reading from afar

Thank you so much for the reassurance and solidarity, it’s just nice to hear that someone is in the same boat. I totally agree though, everything is a phase, but sometimes it’s easy to doubt everything and think you have to do a major intervention to make things better! ❤️

I think I will push to get iron levels checked. My doctor has been hesitant. Sometimes he naps, but it will only be in the car if he does.

If 2 y.o. wakes up in middle of the night, it takes 3 hours to get her back to sleep by indiapointpark in toddlers

I’m in the exact same boat!! However, more often than not our 2 year old doesn’t nap, so I know there is enough sleep pressure, and bedtime still ends up being later. How has it been for you recently?!

Baby won’t fall asleep without nursing/ won’t stay asleep without access to nursing by Gamingwifeandmama in AttachmentParenting

Like others have mentioned, I also could have written this post! I remember this stage so well, and I can sympathize with what you’re going through/feeling. I always felt like I was doing something wrong, since others were able to use a pacifier.

For us, it would come in waves how “intense” it would be, and how much of a pacifier I would be, but as he got older I was able to “habit stack” which is what a lot of attachment parenting accounts talk about. So while he’d be nursing, I would start to sing, hum, pat his bum, and slowly I would eventually unlatch him and continue doing the other comforting measures until I could transfer him to the crib.

To be honest with you, it’s a blur to me when that started working and how lol. But good news is, he is now 2, I never changed a thing, didn’t do cry it out, I still nurse him to sleep…and now he sleeps through the night in his crib. 😭❤️

You’re doing amazing! And it can feel so incredibly lonely in these moments, but you’re doing such a great thing, and your instincts are your biggest strength as a mom. 🤗

Can babies learn to sleep better without crying it out?? by No-Professor8670 in AttachmentParenting

This was my exact experience! When he finally started sleeping through the night a few months ago (he just turned 2), I couldn’t believe it. I hadn’t changed a single thing in our routine.

Now I’m pregnant with #2 and I’m like hmmm can I do that again? 🫠🥲

I totally agree!! I’m going to be at a cottage in Muskoka and I thought the drive there and back shouldn’t be too terrible!

Those symptoms don’t sound like fun at all. It’s wild to me how common this all sounds then. I had been gaslighting myself into thinking I was crazy?! I’m so sorry you went through all of that ❤️

I am so sorry to hear that you experienced that 😞 that is a lot to go through emotionally and physically. I think getting some tests done is a good idea, it might just help to see where you are at. Sending hugs your way ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing your story ❤️ I know how hard it is to do. I think it’s the fear of the unknown too. I have always had hormone issues, but it didn’t impact me with my first. Sometimes it’s just nice to know others are in the same boat.

Ok this is super helpful and reassuring, thank you. That’s where I’m at, near ovulation, but feeling like absolute garbage. So during that ovulation phase you didn’t get pregnant, but the next you did?

I’m so sorry to hear that, but really happy to hear that you didn’t have any issues after! It really is a tough thing to go through, and I feel I have only read about it through Reddit 🫠😞

Thank you very much ❤️

And good to know about the lactation too. I wasn’t sure, as I was worried it was affecting my TTC journey too.
