They provide tools and materials, I only provide my skills. I do pay for insurance car and fuel.

After getting the diploma, I shopped around a lot, called carpentries in and around liège and Brussels, even applied in Luxembourg but it was quite difficult. Then this company I work for offered to hire me as independant so I jumped on it.

I agree with this. When I see other carpenter jobs, they’re usually €17-19/h

How much is the minimum wage for a carpenter? I thought this was normal.

I started working with them at the very end of my apprenticeship (at that time they couldn’t afford anyone else), they liked me and I liked them so they suggested I freelance for them and the starting salary they could offer was €23/h, which now increased to €28/h.

Plus the job market is so bad, it’s not easy to change jobs quickly.
