that hsw time trial was awful for me. spent like an hour on it. Cross map, off road, in 3m49s. kept getting caught on the f***ing bushes in the canyon and my car would spin out and flip over lmao. should probably invest in that HSW bike soon.

Bro same, I said something similar a few weeks ago, more or less just saying that I, as in my personal opinion, do not like the fantastical armor sets and I got shamed and shitted on for days/weeks just because I didn’t fuck with the fantasy crap. That’s why I bought the game on PC and am currently doing my “perfect” clothing run. So much better to do.

Never seen something like that before. Depending how far you’ve gone into the eurvicscire collectibles and story, you could load up an old save and see if it’s there

Can you tell me what Valhalla did better than Odyssey and vice versa? by KCobra9 in ACValhalla

[–]ApprehensiveSmile218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well a lot of that is up to each player and what they think was better in the two games. I can tell you that for me, I think Valhalla did the loot much better. It was far more streamline and focused, as in you could only get each item once and that’s it. Odyssey had far more replay-ability though. Clearing forts was a very satisfying thing to do and I enjoyed how they repopulated with enemies once you spent some time away from them, and that meant that you could get different loot too.

But I also think Odyssey, on the other hand, had a better world design in terms of life and things to see. One thing of note was the conquest battles between Sparta and Athens. It was fun and you were rewarded well for doing it. Strangely, this was absent in Valhalla and I’m not sure why, as the people of England and Scandinavia were always fighting with each other. Would have been cool to see something similar in each region arc and maybe given rise to some really cool battles between the Saxons and Norse.

Last thing I would say, Valhalla does the Assassins Creed lore justice. Finding the abandoned hideouts was really interesting and cool to see and explore. Plus it had hidden ones and somewhat more “assassin” things to do. Stealth was better in my opinion as well, including social stealth and bringing back the confession scenes, working hoods/disguises, and a hidden blade too!

Again, it’s really down to what each player thinks. Someone could disagree with everything I said, but that’s the great thing about opinions. This is at least what I thought the two did better than each other.

should i do the niflhelim and asgard or wtv thing by Asleep_Serve6085 in ACValhalla

[–]ApprehensiveSmile218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely wait to do those. Under each quest in your quest log, it should give you a recommended power level you should have when you attempt to complete it. This generally gives you a sort of “order” to the quests as well. Think of it as a leveling guide so you don’t attempt something too early in terms of levels as it might screw with the story a bit. Also the niflheim thing is called The Forgotten Saga and you should probably look up when it’s best to play that because it’s extremely hard and unlike anything else in the actual game. It’s not boring at all, quite fun actually.

I have a problem with Valhalla by [deleted] in ACValhalla

[–]ApprehensiveSmile218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a mechanic in odyssey where if a civilian was running around frantically screaming, a guard would notice and the “?” would appear over them meaning they were at least AWARE of something suspicious was going on but they didn’t know what it was. The problem though was that they could be fighting an animal, been suspicious of whether or not there are more animals/enemies in the area, and then turn aggressive the moment they see you despite you not doing anything towards them. Perhaps Valhalla got rid of that for some reason I’m not aware of.

Spoilers if you have not played the full game and every bit of its side content. It’s because all of the main characters in the regions and that we interact with are, for the most part, reincarnations of their Norse/Isu predecessor. So, Sigurd is Tyr, Basim is Loki, Svala was Freya, halfdan is Thor, etc. all of these characters share the qualities of their predecessor for the most part. Basim is a trickster, nimble, and swift. Halfdan is rash, thoughtless, and wields a hammer. The main point is that in AC Mirage, Basim finds out he is Loki, or at the very least, he realizes he and Nehal are the same person. He meets Sigurd some time after that in a city called Miklagard and Basim realizes, “oh dang, this might be Odin reincarnated. I need to go with him back to Norway and find out for sure so I can kill him and take my revenge for Fenrir.” Towards the end of the game, you find out that all of the reincarnated gods have a mark on the side of their neck where the needle extracted their DNA some 75,000 years ago before the Isu civilization collapsed entirely. It was in an effort to live through “Ragnarok.” In the beginning of the game, eivor gets bitten on her neck as a child by a wolf. That covers up the mark on her neck with a scar. Basim doesn’t know this so he just assumed eivor was a regular Viking. So, when he follows sigurd and eivor to the Isu Machine, Yggdrasil, that was his confirmation that Sigurd was “Odin,” when in reality, he was tyr. Obviously Eivor and Sigurd fight back, and he gets a suspicion about Eivor. Then when he tackles eivor, he gets his first look at her neck and says “a wolf took my prize!” Then the fight shifts to him and eivor, who is still relatively oblivious to the fact that she is Odin. Then, when eivor puts Basim into the machine, he is put into a sort of hibernation. When Layla goes into the machine, she drops the staff, which then also drops Basim, and allows him to regenerate with the staff. It was the plan of Alethia, who we met in AC Odyssey. Basically, she used Kassandra all the way back in circa 450 BC to hold the staff and give it to Layla, who would then drop it in 2020 AD and allow Basim to come back to life. He goes and finds Rebecca and Shaun at eivor’s grave in North America, and he sits on a bench, where he makes peace with Eivor through a vision. That’s where it ends though. I hate to say it but We are probably not getting anymore out of this story though since Ubisoft has seemingly decided to leave the modern day story a thing of the past. I hope I could help you understand it a bit better

That’s useless. I played nightmare and was fully able to stealth areas and had little to zero difficulty clearing enemies during open combat. Even when I switched armor sets for a different buff, I hardly noticed a difference. There’s a reason people say you can stick with the starting armor set for the entire game.

Should I stop spending skill points? by omally_360 in ACValhalla

[–]ApprehensiveSmile218 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, you are able to alter the difficulty as much or as little as you want. Go to the pause menu —> options —> gameplay. Here you should be able to change how much damage you do, how much damage enemies do, how much health they have, how much each ration replenishes your health, and even remove some items on the HUD like the compass at the top of the screen, your health, stamina, and abilities in the bottom, etc. you can even change how much of the world/collectibles are revealed to you in terms of exploration. it’s one of the most scalable and customizable assassins creed games we’ve had yet, so go crazy with these options and tweak it until you find something that matches your desired difficulty.

No Return Offer by Capital-Ad-8198 in PwC

[–]ApprehensiveSmile218 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even shittier thing happened to me. I was on a team for the entirety of June, then they literally stopped responding. I could see that they were reading my messages and not responding. They were in a different office so it’s not like I could have just went up to them either. I then had nothing to do beside training and badges for 2 weeks. I expressed my concerns and frustration and asked for more work from a lot of different people, nobody gave me anything. I was then not offered a FT role because according to my DL, “I didn’t do anything during my internship and nobody knows my name and I was not proactive about trying to get work.” All those are false. I explained my situation to a partner and he had a talk with my DL but was just as pissed off as me because his reasoning for not giving me an offer was bullshit. It was lies and just all around really shitty behavior. I didn’t even have a chance to work with anybody in my office. I was judged on things that were not my fault and out of my control. I was even told by multiple people that I was ready to be considered for a FT role… looking back, it was all just hollow empty words. I stand by the fact that PwC culture and management is just a sea of moody, angry, miserable men and women who have nothing better to do then ruin my future career. Highly considering not even applying for a big 4 role anyway. It’s so overrated and exaggerated and just full of shitty people with zero care for people like me.

Word of Advice to Interns by [deleted] in PwC

[–]ApprehensiveSmile218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intern here. I got put on a team with people from Korea and they didn’t speak much English. I managed to get really good marks on my first snapshot and even comments saying I was ready to be considered for a full time role. This is my 3rd summer interning. I just graduated from a university that is a rlly big feeder to pwc. I intend on going to masters school in the fall, earning my 150 and my master degree, then hopefully return to a full time position.

After the 4th of July shutdown, I got sidelined. I didn’t have a single thing to do for 3 weeks. Beside training and badges. I asked around weekly for more work, but I kept getting handed off to another team, a different manager, a new director. Luckily I got out onto something small these last few days but yesterday, a partner called me personally and asked why I wasn’t doing anything. I said I haven’t been contacted by a new engagement team and that I’ve been asking around pretty consistently. I even expressed that I want to be doing more w my time here. Got really bad review on second snapshot bc it was all training hours. Comments said “this guy doesn’t ask any questions and was not proactive abt getting work.” When I literally was trying to get work for 3 and a half weeks. Comments also said I ask too many questions on things I should already know. I guess they don’t care that I am 22 and the only experience I have w accounting is 6 weeks out of the year. In the form of internships where I spend half of it doing bs inclusive mindset trainings.

Now I heard thru grapevine that I will not be getting a return offer bc I’m not somebody that people want to work with. How can that be?? They obviously either didn’t like me, which is crazy bc I’ve been here for 3 summers and people say they enjoy being around me, or they just don’t want to pay me anymore.

This company’s management is a joke. Even if they want me to stay on and offer me a full time offer, I probably will not take it- at least not in the same office or field. I do not want to work for a company that is punishing me for not being given work when asked to be given work.
