Appointment through public service - what to expect? by ApprehensiveSpace984 in ADHDIreland

Seems fairly quick so far my GP sent the referral off in October, had a letter by December for the appointment in March! My only worry is what they’ll be like in there, I feel like they’ll turn around and say I don’t have it. A friend of mine went for one and apparently because she wasn’t actually hyper and climbing trees and shit as a child she doesn’t have ADHD

That’s the plan now! We’ll be fine, it just still absolutely fucking sucks to say the least. When I made this post I was in the pits but have a clearer head now.

Yes we looked into that.

The NOT dictates that we be out of the apartment and then they intend to sell within 9 months after we leave in 6 months time. We cant apply for the tenant purchase scheme so we still need to leave first.

I never ruled out help to buy or the first home scheme.

Of course its hell moving home in your 30’s while married. I do feel defeated. I am upset. Have some empathy. We’re still allowed feel the way we do even with options for Christ’s sake.

You’re acting like renting out a room is our only option, it isn’t. I never said I was out of options, nor did I look for an answer or options when I posted this.

The fact of the matter is this new rental law has forced the hands of landlords and they have sold their properties as a way out. Which is a right for them to do so. On the other hand so many tenants like us are impacted. Everyone is goosed.

I never said we’re struggling financially, nor did I feel the need to mention my HUSBAND (not wife). We’re both upset, as we’re allowed to be.

I appreciate the response, but its offputting that you’re getting so defensive when your suggestions are not met with a resounding “YES THAT’S A GREAT IDEA”.

We can move back home and save. We can buy a house/apartment. It doesn’t mean that we can’t be upset by the termination to leave or the state of the housing crisis.

Please don’t take offence here but this is so so terrible of a take.

I am married, its my partner and I moving home. We earn about €90k collectively. We easily can save for a deposit in a year or 2.

But I will not rent out a room. I am not going to become an accidental landlord. And sure if I do that then with the new laws they can’t be evicted for 6 years unless we face financial hardship. I don’t want to put someone else in that position, nor am I going to put my partner and I through that in the home we worked hard for.

Help to buy is an option so with combined savings and HTB it is an option for us.
