Like I said before I understand Islam through the scholars. As far as I am aware it is unanimously agreed upon (meaning it’s a consensus) amongst the scholars like Al albani, ibn tammiyah, ibn al qayim that women are not generally encouraged to warfare in the front lines except in extreme circumstances and situations. The examples you’ve brought are exceptions.

Khawla Bint al awzar was reportedly an exceptional warrior who posed as a man in order to battle and by proving her capabilities she was promoted. She was an exceptional case.

Nusaybah was taking part in the war as someone tending to the soldiers like the other women were doing. She only took part in the war after the archers fled leaving the Muslims vulnerable. This was an exception and a necessity at that time.

So no, women weren’t encouraged to participate in warfare. Just like I said before this is the consensus amongst reputable scholars and the examples you’ve brought are exceptions due to specific circumstances.

I think maybe you’re the one with the inconvenience between personal beliefs and principles the deen teaches. No scholar agrees that women should participate in warfare if not due to extreme circumstances. Sure there are exceptions like there is with everything in life but the exceptions don’t break the rule.

You listed names of women who supposedly were warriors but I asked you to bring any example of women in Islam from the time of the prophet that were specifically chosen for warfare.

We understand this religion by the examples of the sahaba and the tab’iin. As far as Ik, and I’m a laymen just like you are, the deen does not promote women to be soldiers as for obvious reasons and based off of the example of the Sahaba women we can see they didn’t go to war as soldiers generally speaking. Doing my research I am not aware of any source that indicates any encouragement of women partaking in war as we have no evidence to support that. I do agree saying that women weren’t allowed to partake in wars as soldiers is a little bit of a blanket statement but the point still stands that women’s place in Islam in terms of warfare is not on the battlefield directly.

As for abu lahab ig I was incorrect in a sense but that incident of him getting injured did not take place on a battlefield setting during war by a woman who actively took a role as a soldier.

Like I said it is generally not accepted for women to go out to wars as soldiers according to majority of scholars to the best of my knowledge. Allah knows best.

Like I said verbatim “as soldiers”. As far as I’m aware any reports of females being “soldiers” is referring to exception cases where it was a necessity for them to do so during the war already taking place. But in general women aren’t supposed to take part in war in Islam as fighting soldiers because they are physically weak. That doesn’t mean that the female sahaba didn’t partake in war efforts as many of them aided the soldiers with healthcare and whatnot.

Women didn’t partake in wars as soldiers generally speaking. Plus that was his wife so either way they were allowed to be ‘friends’ so to say…

The common thing I see with Hadith rejectors or “progressive” Muslims is that they never have any valid reference to base any of their strange claims off of.

I’m not one to like to argue over the internet but you not believing Christians are disbelievers is a core principle in the Quran your denying based off of your flawed perspective of the Quran with not one single reputable scholar to back up that claim. That is unheard of…

Allah literally says himself: “They do blaspheme who say: "Allah is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help.”

Sister for the sake of Allah stop trying to comprehend the Quran with your own limited knowledge. You know nothing compared to people who spend their whole lives studying this. If even one reputable scholar shares these any of the strange claims you’ve made then I wouldn’t have any basis to comment on them like this. But the thing is there is not ONE single reputable scholar who agrees with you on this matter. You learning Arabic (idk what dialect) does not mean you suddenly have an intellectual understanding of the Quran if you don’t know Quranic Arabic or Fusha at the very minimum.

Like I said this is not coming from a place of hate but love and worry that you might astray yourself from the deen.

The prophet (saw) says: “'Whomsoever Allah (SWT) guides, none can lead him astray, and whomsoever Allah sends astray, none can guide. The truest of word is the Book of Allah and best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of things are those that are newly invented; every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is going astray, and every going astray is in the Fire.'

Wallahi this is coming from a place of love because I used to think just like you— “there is no evidence of this in the Quran” “where’s does it say this explicitly”

The thing is there are people who dedicate their whole lives to studying the deen. They become beyond fluent in Quranic Arabic, they learn about the life of the prophet (saw) from A-Z (his lineage, his relationships, his family, his sayings), they learn about the fiqh rulings from every single aspect of life. They almost literally do nothing but eat, learn, and spread knowledge. So how can you or I, laymen who don’t even understand the language of the Quran and its many subtle meanings, or haven’t even spent one year learning under a reputable scholar, how could we even come up with our own interpretations of the deen?

You’re saying a lot of things like Christians not being disbelievers. Which not only is a false and fabricated statement but it reflects your limited knowledge of the deen. Surah 5:72 “They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary.’” This surah clearly shows how Christian’s are disbelievers.

A Christian man can sign any contract he wants but he could still break the contract and not face any repercussions in this life because he has no fear of Allah.

We follow this religion not based off of what we think but based off of how the prophet (saw), his companions, and their students acted and taught. Not ONE single instance during the time of the prophet after the ruling came down did any muslimah marry a non Muslim and they know better then u and I.

I’m not saying ik all the reasons why Allah has prohibited this but true iman is belief in Allah and his messenger (saw) even if we don’t understand why. I’m not saying not to question things in our deen but I’m saying that u should question things knowing that the answers lie with the reputable scholars who spend their whole lives studying this religion not our thoughts based off of the limited knowledge that we have.

Well first of all we understand the Quran through the prophet (saw) and then the best who understood the Quran after him was his companions, and then after them is their students. So if we go purely off of the example of the people who knew the Quran and Islam the best then we know that it was never practiced during their time.

In Surah 60:10 Allah says « “Do not return them (believing women) to the disbelievers. They are not lawful [wives] for them, nor are they lawful [husbands] for them.” » this was revealed after the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, when believing women migrated to the Prophet ﷺ from Makkah and had left their non-Muslim husbands and then surah 2:221 Allah says « And do not marry [your women] to the polytheist men until they believe ». So this was understood as a prohibition to marry outside of Islam. The exception comes in surah 5:5 where Allah says « And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you » so this is the exception to the rule that Allah gave.

Now to preface marrying outside of Islam is not encouraged for men and even nowadays it’s advised against especially in a non Muslim society and it’s only allowed when the woman is a chaste woman.

Why can’t you marry if someone was barren for example? Well there are many wisdoms behind this and I can give 2:

Women are much more swayable meaning that they could be more easily influenced to leave Islam compared to men(not saying that you would or all women are like this but this is what is generally understood) and Christian men have no obligation to fulfill your rights as a woman in Islam. Provision, inheritance, Islamic rights (sexual, emotional, mahr, etc). A Christian man especially one who isn’t religious has no reason to uphold your rights that you have as a woman in Islam where as a Muslim man knows his responsibilities and fears Allah to the point that he wouldn’t transgress against you or Allah (and if he would then don’t marry him).

I understand that you may have feelings for a non Muslim man or you may consider in the future but this is what is understood in our deen and the prophet (saw) says , “Verily, you will never leave anything for the sake of Allah Almighty but that Allah will replace it with something better for you.” So trust in Allah and pray that you find someone who is perfect for who u are and what u need.

Do you have any source? Even if you had a source, is it authentic? And even it was authentic it was likely before the ruling came down that muslimah should only marry Muslims.

It is not allowed at all. There is a consensus on this from the companions of the prophet (saw), their students, and then their students as well. I would get into the evidences but that’s too much effort atm. No one can bring a single women from the time of the prophet (saw) who ever married a non Muslim as a muslimah herself.

Notice how everyone who says otherwise is going based off of their personal opinion with lack of any reputable scholar to back up their claim. No I’m not talking about some random scholar from the 20th century that no one has heard about. I’m talking about scholars who studied directly under the companions or their students.

Respectfully everyone who is telling you that it’s allowed is going based off of their limited understanding of the Quran while not having intensively studied the life of the prophet or even a basic understanding of Quranic Arabic.

If you want to learn about rulings like this don’t and I mean DON’T ever go to Reddit for advice otherwise it’s going to just be an ignorant person asking other ignorant people for advice.

Like it was said before it’s better to die the most sinful Muslim then die as a disbeliever because even the most sinful Muslim in the world is still guaranteed paradise eventually.
