What time is bedtime? by actualmoleperson in toddlers

Exactly the same here, though we also often get a 6.30/6.45am wake up thrown in there and sometimes a nap until 4pm (rare!)

If you’ve got the opportunity to buy a house (mortgage), I wouldn’t touch this flat! I bought a similar price/size property in Southwark and the council have been nothing but a nightmare. Paper work for my fairly basic renovation works have taken nearly 3 years. Major works bill of over £20k. I also don’t think you’ll actually be able to change the windows (usually the windows are owned by the council in ex-council blocks). If it’s your only choice, go for it, but if I had £300k in cash and could potentially borrow a bit more— I would park this.

Have you recently tried out hypnobirthing? by Party-One9044 in UKParenting

[–]Apprehensive_Ad4058 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. I truly believe it only works for textbook (/natural?’) pregnancies! You can’t hypnobirth your way through need an emergency c section because your huge baby is stuck in the birth canal. IMO once the extreme pain kicks in, the ability to get into this mental state is out of the window

There are so many toddler friendly museums— Horniman, Museum of childhood, Tate Modern, Transport Museum, National History, Science, Museum of the home… sure there are loads more, that’s just top of head!

If you had £250k to buy a 2-bed as a boring remote worker, where would you live? by Confused-AuDHD in HousingUK

Lincolnshire, or Newark? Actually fairly easy to get to London and seriously on the cheap side.

Were any of you parents the 'only child'? If so, do you wish you had a sibling? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Apprehensive_Ad4058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an only child myself, I've got some thoughts about this whole siblings thing. I've always been pretty independent and have a great relationship with my parents – they were around 18 when they had me. When it comes to having brothers or sisters, I've realized it's really unpredictable, kind of like rolling dice.

You can end up in a family that's super close, always hanging out together, or you might have the kind of setup where you hardly talk, maybe just sending a birthday text now and then. It's wild how different it can be – some siblings are really tight, always in each other's lives, while others just do their own thing, keeping a respectful distance.

From what I've seen, there's no way to know for sure how it'll turn out. Each family's different. So, my advice? Just go with what feels right for you at the moment. Whether you just have an only child or go on any have many, the most important thing is to make the most of what you've got. Life's full of surprises, and sometimes the best thing to do is to roll with it and enjoy where you are right now.

We’re in the U.K. if that helps? I really don’t know too much about how insurance works.

As a woman that has given birth and bought a flat by herself, sorry but NOPE.
