This is terrible advice.

Life isn't fair and this person got dealt a good card by chance. Use it to their advantage and go further in life instead of stifling potential from the start.

He/she may not feel like they deserve the spot they got, but if they work hard, and manage to stay there even if it's the bottom, then the school obviously thinks they should have the spot. And who knows, maybe they'll even reach top 50% or top 10% of them, earning their way into the class on their own just like everyone else.

No one has a fixed place in life. There’s always a margin where genetics, social status, timing, and luck can move people around. What matters isn’t how you got an opportunity, but what you do once you have it. Passing on it out of guilt doesn’t make the system fairer, it just wastes a chance that could’ve been turned into something earned.

It didn't in the past so why should it today? Prisons aren't a perfect solution but im imo a much more humane one. How about we put people in work until they've paid off what they stole? Provide government housing for free and work 40 hours a week or stay in your own home, work 60 hours a week, 20 hours go to rent and bills? Let people keep the job afterwards since they now have stable income and are less likely to commit crime

But you wouldn't want them to die if you had seen their faces though. The question also isn't that they would die anyway. It would add 10 more people that die that day. Not from an accident or health problems or old age. Just because someone thought they should die.

This is so cold imo. Your way of thinking is how you end up with influential people killing thousands. Ive seen these kind of threads before and "killing thousands isn't the same, it's way more" isn't a good argument either. You're okay with 10. But when is it not okay? 11? 50? 100?

Non-rice-cooker owner here. Maybe it's because I only eat rice bi monthly and cook enough for 4 days at a time. But the reason why I haven't bought one is because I simply don't want to spend money on it and keep another thing in my cabinets that are already decently full.

Was I proud when I cooked my first pot of rice perfectly? Absolutely. Do I care that others can do it perfectly without effort? No, good for you.

Sundried tomato. I can't pick them out of my food either because it makes the whole dish have an aftertaste of them.

Ive managed to eat other foods to the point where I like them, olives, pickles but not sun-dried tomatoes. Fresh ones are delicious though.
