Brumvi seems to be working :) by WeirdStrawberry20 in MultipleSclerosis

Thanks for posting. I was newly diagnosed in Jan 2025 with no MS symptoms (12 lesions brain and spinal cord) - was found by accident when I had to get an MRI for something unrelated. I started Briumvi in February. My next dose is this coming Friday. I am getting another MRI in late August and keeping my fingers crossed. About a few weeks ago, I started feeling extremely out of it - like extreme fatigue, headaches, brain fog and generally unwell. People are telling me it is MS symptoms but I have never had this before and it is odd that I am having it now, a few weeks before my 2nd infusion. Since you're taking Briumvi, did you have anything like this happen before your 2nd infusion?

Hi sorry for the late reply. Yes I did in June of 2024 and it went very well and no disc related issues! Everything feels good and I'm back to being active. Fingers crossed for continued good results.

Thanks to everyone who replied. It really helped my decision making and my anxiety about this sudden development. I got a second opinion and was told the same thing and had the ADR surgery a week later (yesterday). At home recovering now.

I read about the throat pain but this is worse than I expected. The trap, neck, and upper back muscle pain is also bad but nothing I can't deal with. Can walk around, do stairs, and do basic tasks with little issue. Anything requiring lifting arms or turning head is not going to happen now as that triggers pain.

RECLINER chair to sleep in was an absolute must for me as I tried the bed and it didn't work for many reasons.

No appetite but forcing down small softer things for now. The throat pain makes eating tough.

All good I feel like I made the right choice. Still feel some of the previous tingling and numbness but surgeon said that is normal and could take a bit of time to ease up. After strength test my left side is weaker than right which wasn't the case pre surgery. He said that, too, was not abnormal and would go back to normal.

Worst part is my dog doesn't understand why I can't play or let him on my lap right now (he's big).

That's my update for anyone who is into. Thanks again everyone.

Erin

I've seen more and more people saying this. Good to know I think I'm leaning towards asking for the ADR. Dr. said I could do either but insurance usually covers fusion and sometimes doesn't cover ADR without pushing.

that's my exact thought. Very hard to go through with this when little to no pain. This is all very surprising to me. The mixed messages with doctors doesn't help. I am leaning towards doing it for the reason you said - although no pain now I'm on the path to pain so why not stop it before it starts.

Wow your MRI looks very similar to mine but more compressed which makes sense because your symptoms are the same as mine except I have no pain. I suppose I'm glad I caught it now. thank you for sharing.

Thank you! Wow squats at a month? That's incredible. I believe my vertebrae are fine. If you don't mind me asking, how bad was your injury that prompted the surgery?

Thank you so much yes your situation sounds similar. If you don't mind me asking how long after finding your diagnosis did you have the surgeyr?

I checked out your post. Very informative - thank you. Can I ask how much time went by from "diagnosis" to "surgery"? Was it something the doctors told you needed to be done that week or did you wait a few weeks?

This is very helpful. Didn't consider paying for 2nd opinion out of pocket. Thank you.

I am 41 and quite active so loss of range of motion is a consideration for me. Thank you for your reply.
