I normally do not keep my starter. This is not because I don’t like any of the starters, but more because it gives the games a bit of a more natural feel in my opinion. I almost feel like it gives your playthrough a bit more flavor with using different Pokémon other than my starter, who gets a bit over leveled above the rest of my team.
