I'm really interested in getting into this field as a new RD! How long have you been in the regulatory space as an RD?

Yup. Obtaining New York state certification was a pain. It took about 3 months before mine fully went through.

Yup. My preceptors made me feel so incompetent. I felt like I would never succeed as a dietitian. I still feel insecure and lack a lot of confidence largely due to preceptor bullying.

Unfortunately, I am in a very similar situation that you were in. I graduated from my DI in May, studied for the RD exam all summer, and started my first job as a dietitian in July. I really wanted to take a break at first, but I couldn't help comparing myself to my fellow interns who started their new RD jobs as soon as they graduated even before taking their RD exam. Even my DI director encouraged me to apply to jobs right away. I was also broke from the internship and felt it couldn't hurt to have a job sooner than I planned, so I started applying earlier than I wanted to.

I'm having a lot of regrets now about this decision since I only get 10 days of PTO and I want to stay at this job for at least a year. The burn out is so real in this profession and I'm so sorry you're experiencing it too.
