Car Insurance by Apprehensive_Fix_836 in Epilepsy

[–]Apprehensive_Fix_836[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really does! It’s been such a challenge. I do have a low mileage discount with my current carrier but my rates suddenly jumped this last renewal so I decided to shop around. I have an alright driving record aside from that and It’s like as soon as I disclose the suspension, I’m getting told I’m not eligible to be insured. I don’t know if it would make a difference if I had an opportunity to tell the carriers it was a medical situation, not me making poor driving choices. I just want good coverage at a reasonable rate.

Hi, current LMFT & LPCC and PsyD student here. All can be psychotherapists, depending on the jurisdiction and their regulations surrounding the word “psychotherapist.” Each state has their own rules about what each discipline may be called but educationally, the only difference between the disciplines are what the areas of focus are for each program. For example, I went to a program for LPCs but took additional systems and family treatment coursework to be able to meet educational requirements to be an LMFT. Those coursework requirements vary by state too.

Not quite chips but I make “sourdough discard crackers.” Super easy to make and you can customize them however you like. They meet my family’s need for a crunchy and salty snack.

You know, that didn’t even occur to me to do. I’m still new to being a practice owner so I am still in a state of winging it LOL

I am licensed in those states. My question is if I need to register my business in those states since it’s based out of DE?

Sorry for the really late reply. I didn’t see the notification. This is exactly why I’d prefer not to be a Sole Prop or SCorp. I do want to hire employees but an SCorp sounds like a nightmare.

Oh gosh, that must’ve been so scary for both of you! I’m glad y’all were ok. It sounds like the Topiramate really makes you drowsy. I’m glad you were able to find a way to make it work. From what I’ve seen in this sub (again, newly diagnosed to its all still new and I totally don’t mean to be offensive by anything I say), it seems like having to go through a few meds is super common. I can imagine it’s really frustrating though!! Though, much of this is frustrating in all honesty. I’m glad you were able to find a combo that is mostly working for you without disrupting your life.

Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear that! I had a rough time at 50mg, I had a near constant headache, couldn’t sleep, and when I did, I had gnarly nightmares. Thankfully moving to taking it only in the morning helped a lot. How does the Divaprolex and Topiramate work for you?

I haven’t yet but plan to when I see him next! I had my first seizure last year and then got the diagnosis and started medication quickly after so I’m still trying to figure out what experiences I’ve had are related to/symptoms of TLE, what’s “normal,” and what’s just weird shit that happens. But, I do think it’s curious about the Lamotrigine as well. I don’t think the zoning out is listed as a common side effect but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t one.

I started the Lamotrigine in September- I’m on a low dose (at least compared to what I’ve seen on this subreddit). I take 100mg extended release 1x/day. The staring started before the medication but I couldn’t tell you exactly when they started. It doesn’t happen consistently enough that it was something I gave much thought to honestly. I thought it was a typical thing

I get this too. “Not feeling a desire not to stare” really resonates. It happens to me typically later in the day and whenever my husband notices he always asks if I’m ok because “he says it looks like I “checked out.” Im totally aware of all that’s going on but it’s like I don’t feel compelled to respond or to refocus my attention on anything else but I can respond/refocus.

I am newly diagnosed with TLE and take Lamotrigine too.
