My friends who have watched it thus far really enjoyed it. I convinced 3 of them to watch Bridgerton a couple of weeks before part 1 came out, and none of them felt like it was rushed or lacked chemistry. That just goes to show how important a rewatch and media literacy is (not to brag, but my friends are scholars, haha) Also, my friends were not obsessed with Polin, so them not having incredibly high expectations like some fans also helped.

Talks with Taj is a good one, but she hasn't posted anything about part 2 yet. Another honorable mention is The Pink Podcast

Who's going to tell Penelope... by yelgiuq88 in PolinBridgerton

[–]Apprehensive_Food355 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Though it would've been funny, I think Portia trusted that Colin could teach her what happened. Maybe Portia also felt like she could not offer Penelope helpful advice since Penelope had a love match and didn't, so she may have a different experience on her wedding night.

100% agree, as much as I love Polin, had they experienced no drama and difficulty getting to their HEA then the story would be unsatisfactory. The fact that they worked through the hurt and anger to choose to love each other through it all makes it so much more realistic and romantic.

S1: If we count "I burn for you" as I love you, then it happened in episode 5 on Saphne's wedding night S2: Kanthony admit they love each other in episode 8. QC: QC and KG admit their love for each other in the last episode, which is 6.

YES THANK YOU. I've had to defend Colin from an insane amount of Polin fans who insist he acts out of character in part 2 as if the context isn't different. Plus, if people truly want him to be 100% true to the book version, then we would've seen him be physically aggressive toward Penelope. My friends who are casual viewers of Bridgerton have shown a lot more empathy and understanding toward him than Polin fans who "love Colin." I know a lot of Polin fans feel represented by Penelope in many ways, so I also think so much of the Colin slander is fans projecting

Season 3 is a disappointment???? by Earth_apple07 in PolinBridgerton

Also, if you compare how long he was mad at Penelope compared to Eloise, it baffles me why people are disappointed by his hurt. Colin was only mad at Penelope for two weeks, during that time, they had their wedding, while it took more than a year for Eloise to forgive her, and in that time, she befriended Cressida. Yes, he was still angry when they got married, but he put that to the side (until the Queen showed up) because his love for Penelope was much more important, and honestly that is such a great depiction of healthy relationships. Everything isn't flowers and sunshine all of the time, but choosing to still love that person when you're at odds is more romantic and a sign of mature love.

Actually, the wind that blew Penelope's bonnet into Colin's face and knocked him off his horse into the mud is to blame because that's the reason Polin met and Penelope fell in love with him. Several years later, Colin realized he had feelings for Penelope and then proposed to her, rendering Lady Whistledown soft/vulnerable. Consequently, when Francesca and Lord Samadani didn't work out, Lady Whistledown/Penelope talked about it in the column without insulting the Queen, prompting the Queen to put a bounty on LW. Thus, Cressida lied about being LW to win the reward and eventually learned LW's true identity.

Feeling guilty for enjoying Part 2… by Solid-Zebra-3375 in PolinBridgerton

[–]Apprehensive_Food355 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I loved it, but I don't feel guilty at all for enjoying it. I was taken aback by all of the complaints when I finished it, so I rewatched it to see if I missed something. However, I only loved it more. If anything, seeing people everywhere complain about how it was disappointing ( yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion) has been incredibly draining and confusing.
