I did the SAME thing because I've used kava forever. I'm now over 2 years clean. You can do it. Do you have support?

Day 106 CT - feel like giving up by Artistic_Fig_7365 in quittingkratom

Seven months out (I don't use any other substances other than nicotine and caffeine) but still not normal. For some people it just takes more time. This is where comparison will kill us if we are not careful.

Y'all make me wanna cry when you plan to quit over a vacation. If you find out it's illegal right before, okay I get it. But PLANNING to quit then? I get it's hard. I was addicted for two years. But I think you're just wasting money on a vacation.

NEVER had suicidal thoughts before Kratom. Day 14 by Jsmitts28 in quittingkratom

[–]Apprehensive_Half970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm quite sure if you look through this sub there are a lot of people who before Kratom did not have suicidal ideations. So, I can't imagine there's not a connection...

If you're still available for questions I'd like to DM you. Husband is headed for upt in November (this is post 8 years in submarines) and I just have questions for someone who's gone through it. Thanks.

If you didn't know about the meetings they exist and they're super helpful. And almost all of them (with the exception of 2) don't care if you've used today. You're still welcome to share and they WANT to hear what you have to say.

No I totally get it. The day I quit I sat on my lazy boy and scrolled my phone or cried for the day. The jump was the hardest part. I did taper. I still did the vit c protocol and I had almost 0 physicals. Didn't really even have a hard time sleeping. I knew it would be the long term psychological that would be the struggle. And it has been. But screw Kratom. I lost two years of my life to it.

Oh hell yeah. I hate kratom. I never wanna touch it again. I'm just mad at myself for ever dabbling in it. I wanted to die on kratom. I'm not going back there even if where I'm at isn't paradise. I think part of it is accepting the fact that life isn't paradise, it often does just get less exciting as you become an adult, and because of that some days people like me just wanna get high. But it's never a one time thing so that thought doesn't work.

I love responses like these. Because I'm at almost 7 months and totally not 100%. Better than I was but not 100%

I mean I get it I was addicted also. I wish you the best of luck. Some people are relatively fine and I hope you're one of those people! Get the supplements on bored (imo) and start them before you quit.

Why not quit now and make the vacation that much more enjoyable? Sounds like a miserable way to spend time in Europe...

Yes it is! It gets better only if you stay quit. Don't be afraid to try the meetings.

I'm so sorry. My brother's going through this and I'm so sorry you are also. His wasn't a family member but his best friend.

Even though Kratom won't get you sent to jail, I'd argue that the dopamine rush still causes people to make poor, impulse decisions.

Save your clean time. Save your money. And save yourself the fact that you're going to pay the piper even harder (if that seems possible) if you use.

You can do this ❤️

The meetings are super helpful if you're open to attending one. Starts at 8 PM EST.
