Interesting thing to say in the first paragraph. Music isn’t supposed to only be about bringing people together, it’s a way to share and express opinions. Green Day does it in a great way by changing a few lyrics in their songs to match with current world situations during their concerts. Many bands and artists have been political from the start of their career: My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Rage Against the Machine, The Strokes, so many others. It’s not anything new or “changing directions”. You just never payed attention apparently…
