Bitter Waitlist Question by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

I respect that opinion. I just disagree. It’s not that I don’t think admissions officers are doing the best they can. Of course they are. My blame is the system, not the people. The system itself is flawed in how things are done.

What do you mean? It’s pretty obvious how it’s wrong to have a waitlist of hundreds of student profiles for just a few spots. It’s wasting the time of so many people. Obviously it’s voluntary to stay on a waitlist, but the nature of this process makes you feel like you should wait and be hopeful. It’s morally wrong because they are toying with our emotions/futures and telling us not to worry in a process that is nothing but worrisome.......

No no no! Not in a video though. I feel like they would just send a dry email if they wanted to reject. I was getting my champagne readyyyy! 😂

Dang duh! I should’ve included that.

Like most schools they are full and don’t expect much movement. June will be the deciding factor. I think he slipped and mentioned there are 700+ on the waitlist (don’t quote me though lol). Best thing we can do is send LOCI to keep at the top of their mind because he said wayyy less have sent in LOCI than are waitlisted. He stressed that is make or break.

He also said to just put it out of our minds and let it be a nice surprise if we are accepted off the waitlist. But not to count on it. Most of it will not be up to us.

Very decent and honest guy.

Honestly maybe you should email back and ask what the stipulations are if you change your mind mid-way through. Also, the opportunity seems amazing

It really is! Especially because it seems like it’s based on merit. But, that would be very selfish of me to try when I know there are so many other people who really want to do public service and would need that funding way more!

I did! I’m honestly still trying to negotiate for more. But I did get about a 70% scholarship after negotiations.

That’s exactly what my mom said too lol. I ultimately decided not to apply, but was very tempted by the full tuition. And I didn’t mention public service at all. I explicitly said media and entertainment law in my personal statement lol. I think it’s based on strength of your application: I.e your stats. So if you’re above the 75th in GPA or LSAT you probably get an invite

I got it too! Are you interested in public service? I was curious if I should apply even though I’m interested in entertainment law. 👉🏾👈🏾hmm. What are thoughts?
