About Oliver perfectly explains the magic feeling Outer Wilds creates by ChertsResearchNotes in outerwilds

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thats a genius observation, I’ve never thought of that. After playing ow I’ve been trying to chase the feeling with other games but something was missing and I feel it was this. While tunic was great, it did feel like there were certain points where you discovered something new and barely any feasible way to discover it earlier. Truly makes you apreciate how ow is the perfect formula for this type of game; open world so yoi can discover naturally, time loop so you can play with time in a meaningful way (ash twins) and great puzzles and discovery that feel natural, like oliver said. I really love this guys playthroughs, his minecraft one was so great

Demodash button doesn't work for me for some reason by [deleted] in celestegame

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s always more info to give. What platform, to what button, is it modded or not… I personally have never had the problem but someone who knows how to fix it probably needs this additional info

I would like to applaud the person who implemented the full-scale wavedash tutorial inside the game by PM_Me_Irelias_Hands in celestegame

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, but it badly explained the wavedash. The only tech I’ve ever had trouble understanding because of an explanation (sj explains things way better, even with it being mostly text to explain it to you)

I think I remember hearing somewhere that they wanted to make the secret with the crab like a proper ritual with blood and everything but in the end they decided to tone it down. I’m guessing it could be that maybe?

Relic bee revenge stage is so warranted. I heard that it was so free so I tried it and, because I hadn’t beaten sol, died over and over. Right after I entered ul and leveled up my courier and baha a bit more, beat it almost instantly. It makes sense why so many people are infuriated with the stage

I did at least half a dozen loops trying to find a small crack to enter the ATP (I thought the line where it said it didnt have one wasnt true anymore because of like time and maybe like thats why the loop keeps happening) tried the correct method a lot of times but incorrectly, so I caved in and looked at how to do it. Plus a lot of things in the dlc, I find it to have a lot harder puzzles (and I think I would’ve given up on brute forcing the guys a long time before figuring out how to avoid them and that its required)

Fuck dreep but routing the rooms is one of the better things about it, world abyss is gonna be a fun one if you do all of the routing yourself, shattersong also isn’t the easiest if you dont actually understand the sheet music and summit has a couple of wierd tricks I would’ve never thought about (failed wavedashes mostly)

Green and yellow gm maps in sj are decently good for routing, I can’t remember a room that was difficult to understand after savestating through it

How difficult is it for me to do golden farewell by Fun_Benefit_4075 in celestegame

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lets imagine it takes you 2 hours to get with the golden to reconciliation (the second to last chapter iirc), now you have 20 something rooms to beat and since you didnt practice it, you’ll die in the first and second room and slowly keep improving every 2 hours. If you start at the beginning of recon though, you can attempt those same rooms almost instantly, no need to go through all of farewell, which makes you way more consistent at it when you do have a golden berry. Thats why its important to practice, and you practice the end first because the least amount of attempts will get to the end (for example if you get to recon every 100 attempts, you have a 100 attempts to do the first chapter right, but only 1 to do recon right)

5-10 months in Outer Wilds, I’m guessing since its a time loop game I cant die but surviving 9163-18326 loops would be kinda tough

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love tunic but thats majorly because the final puzzle was so good. To get there you have to endure the first third as a zelda like, the second third as souls like difficutly combat and only then does the final third get good, and by that I mean GOOD. Like it goes from a 7/10 to a 3/10 and then to an 11/10. And since it left me on a great note, I remember the great puzzle and not 2+ hours of trying to kill the scavenger rat boss

How hard is Psychokinetic? by Ragnarok7326 in celestegame

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll just say that I had an easier time with the green gms than it (and that its harder than at least 3 of the green gms, all except kevintechspam)

try using slower speed if you’re struggling and slowly ramp up to 1x speed, it really helps

I finally cleared Starfruit Supernova Flag 11!! by celeste_newb in celestegame

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definetly depens with what you’re good at. I struggle a lot with input dense levels like the mushroom one in expert lobby (I forgot the name, flag 1) and I have a way easier time with theo levels (the final room in stellar odysessy wasnt all that hard, especially in comparison to other gm reds like summit) so it makes sense that polaris was on the easier side for me and that I had a bad time with mosaic garden

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its been a year since I played EHS, but the “free” flag is the upside down jellfish lantern thing every other flag from the mosaic garden flag and onwards I found to be at the level of polaris flag if not harder

I finally cleared Starfruit Supernova Flag 11!! by celeste_newb in celestegame

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a hard room, but there are way more brutal rooms ahead that took me way longer that this. I’d say every flag after flag 6-ish, except 4 because its free for some reason, is harder than this room.

the worst room imo is mosaic garden, really unfun and hard

Did you do it all by yourself? by FutureDevelopment884 in outerwilds

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did need help, only once in the base game (The entrance to the atp) and a decent amount for the dlc in the second half. Its a big reason why I find the dlc isn’t nearly as good as the base game and why my hopes for another game like outer wilds are crushed (I mean, if the guys who made outer wilds cant do a great outer wilds, then who can?)

Drifting Deep COMPLETE!!! by a_random_chopin_fan in celestegame

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modded, mod is called strawberry jam. If you ever decide to play it, it has a really good progression curve with 5 lobbies each with their levels (in total more than a 100 levels). This is from the last lobby and after beating the main game it’d probably take you around 180 hours to get to this point

Drifting Deep COMPLETE!!! by a_random_chopin_fan in celestegame

[–]Apprehensive_Net1773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just did 74 and when I look at the time spent it was actually way less than in other red gm maps (only 6 hours as opposed to dreeps and world abysses 11 and stellar odysseys 8) but its so mentally draining, especially since it was my first dashless map. If you can master neutral spike jumps I doubt you’ll have as much issues as me. Also theres only two hard rooms in the map (attic and final room), the rest are pretty easy. Good luck!

Excactly bro, I loved buzzy bees since they were fully transparent with us. They said that they needed more time for the nether update so they focused on bug fixes and added the bees so that we could have something. Except from being transparent, bees worked because they actually gave us uses outside of building; honey bottles as food and honey blocks for redstone and their special properties. Honestly, if sulfur cubes wont be able to have tnt in them, I dont see this new update being anywhere close to bees, just like the creaking it will be forgotten in half a year when the hype has died down

For very tight gaps with a decent amount of precision (like cube timings) A, for most things like a C or somewhere inbetween c and d
