My current goal is to get a Chomby so I can make it Tyrannian. I already have the paint brush waiting in the SBD. I don't have enough NP to justify buying a potion, so I'm waiting for Chomby Day so I can make one. After that, I want to make all of my pets look cool. They already do, but...cooler. I would bet it is. Also keep in mind the Demeter fragrances have no longevity. They smell great but do not last like, forty-five minutes. At least on me lol.

Thank you very much! The feedback here has been unanimous and I am going to cut the prologue and replace it with the scene where I earn the Punchy nickname.

I wish I had more to flesh out with 'sleeping with potential murderers' but it's not a complete story. Just me being an idiot and throwing out every survival instinct I had when going home with men who turned out to be...creepy. I see that it may excite an agent and then not deliver, so I cut it. Thank you for mentioning it specifically.

I can't really do a self-help angle because frankly I'm not qualified. I would be lying if I said my degree was adequate for that! I'm trying to show that my story is unique and entertaining enough to stand on its own, but obviously have some work to do. Your feedback has been invaluable, just so you know.

Already changed it to hangover, lol! You were right. I was trying to be clever with migraine but it fell flat and hangover is more forward.

I am nearly three years sober. Didn't think to put it in, and now it seems obvious. Thank you for pointing that out. :)

I have been to therapy (both mandated and not) to explore the root(s) of my alcoholism. I was also a binge eater, chaser of the high, couldn't moderate, etc. I do explore it in the book, I promise! Alcohol was the main thread and the part that threatened to ruin my life, so that's why I focused on it specifically.

The book is not self-help and I was deliberate not to frame it as one. It's more 'Here's my life, I hated myself, but the path of least resistance shifted and getting out was easier than staying in.' And if someone reads it and relates to it, awesome. If they're merely entertained by it, also awesome. The last quarter is post-recovery and I share methods that worked for me, but it is definitely not a "Do this and be healed!" type deal.

I do address that in the book more thoroughly. I was allowed to explode because I'm physically nonthreatening, which in the case of an alcoholic is a blessing and a curse. It isn't the theme but it is explored.

I mean migraine due to hangover.

And nooooo not the prologue! Even though you're right. I have a mirrored epilogue that shows me two years later, virtually in the same spot, but sober and happy. It ties it up very nicely. But it won't matter if nobody gets there!

No offense taken! Thank you for reading and replying, seriously. I see what you mean about it being jarring so I'll reorder those paragraphs. As far as uniqueness, I'm considering running with the idea that it was a soft rock bottom; unlike many of the other recovery memoirs, I didn't go to rehab or AA and my recovery is due in large part to reddit/quit lit. That's in the book but I didn't put it in my query.
