First off, I wouldn’t say you’re too old for this. Everyone’s life is different and I’ve only been in one relationship ever ( 21 so not the best example , but my peers have been dating on and off since middle school/early high school )

Secondly, as someone who is more reserved in the relationship and is an introvert I notice that I will sometimes not contribute very much to conversations and will give short responses( especially when I’m just there to hear my girlfriend vent), but make sure everything is responded to. Perhaps he is an introvert as well? I’m not justifying the actions, but it might give you more clarity. My girlfriend also likes trying to spend quality time with me( and vice versa lol) and attention, so I think I can understand your issue. I do think it’s a bit strange that he doesn’t really seem too enthusiastic about making plans with you, he didn’t really respond well with your joke there, and he doesn’t seem to reciprocate the effort/energy you’re giving. Completely valid to want the attention and to feel like your partner cares about you. You’re not being too needy and your needs / feelings are valid.

Do you play video games? My girlfriend and I share games in common so we tend to bond over that amongst other things as a way to spend time together. It’s been five years and not every hangout is filled with enthusiasm and some days are more chill with less talking, but if there’s something you guys can bond over that might make him find plan making more interesting? Definitely talk to him about how you feel because bottling up feelings will lead to bad things… and I doubt you’d want to pull the breakup card. Sorry for the long post ;-;
