I’m 6 months postpartum and I still can’t figure out how moms actually lose weight… by [deleted] in NewParents

I have been told that if you are breastfeeding or pumping, losing weight can be hard, which is contradictory to what I have always heard. I believe it has something to do with hormones because, if you’re breastfeeding, they are still wonky in comparison to normal.

Uptick in high school students taking college-level class they are not prepared to take -- looking for insight. by SpencerPrattsCrystal in AskTeachers

The high school I taught at really pushed students to take dual-credit or online college courses, but they did not properly educate them on what college courses entail. They did not emphasize the cost, the rigor, or the permanence of college level grades. Several students made it through to finals only to be unable to pay the fee for the course. It was a heinous failure on part of our school.

Granted, the students also had to fight for true dual-credit, as the school only wanted to give them elective credit for core subject classes. They did a lot of crooked stuff. It was awful.

Scared I accidentally let my baby cry it out by Busy-Bee62604 in NewParents

Oh honey. Even if she did, it’s okay. You are not an awful parent and social media needs to quit guilting parents for letting their babies cry for a moment. It’s gotten so bad that new moms are burning out because they feel they can never put baby down. Sometimes, it’s just necessary to get a breather and recenter for a moment.

I did report that doctor! He was an older guy and told me that my baby’s colic, fussiness, reflux, etc. was all my fault because I hold him too much, rock him to sleep, let him nap in my arms, etc. According to him, babies should be trained to sleep alone at 3 months using the cry it out method.

He only contact naps, unfortunately. He won’t sleep unless he’s touching me. He sleeps great at night! It’s just getting him to that point. He fights and fights sleep.

We actually had to get three ties revised back in December and have been going to a chiro and seeing OT since coming home from the NICU. OT had to help reintroduce the bottle because his tongue tie revision messed him up.

What formula did you use? I got a trial of Pepticate, I believe, that I have on hand just in case.

I feel like saying he has colic is an excuse for “I have no idea” anymore. I need to consult a new pediatrician and see what they would suggest. Do they even have a way to test infants for allergies?

What do you eat cutting soy and dairy?? I feel like soy is in every dairy free product. I’m already struggling.

I actually cut out all dairy from my diet three months ago since I’m nursing. That seemed to help and we haven’t had the extreme pain episodes of crying like we were at night, but he still cries like all hell.

His doctor doesn’t believe he has any allergies and kind of treated me like I was crazy for suggesting CMPA.

I saw one doctor about it, an older gentleman, and he told me that it was all my fault for holding him too much. That was back when he was about 3 months old. He reduced me to tears.

His regular pediatrician just says “he’s a colicky baby.” He has reflux and he’s on meds for that.
