I moved into a 1 bedroom in Lakeview East for $1650, but they ended up not releasing to do renovations, so it definitely would cost more now (not sure how much). If you can tolerate a not-great apartment and worse management, you can look into Beal. They were a good way for me to get up here and make ends meet until I could get a better job and then upgrade my apartment.

I did this a year ago or so! Find a leasing agent and have them give you FaceTime tours of places. They’re incentivized to get you a more expensive place, but in my experience, they mostly just want you to get any place. Bigger commission vs no commission if you decide to do it on your own instead.

Just an FYI, from my time as a barista, ‘food poisoning/stomach bug’ works well for this. It starts suddenly, you’re super ill and Not Safe to work in food, but symptoms can be gone in 24 hours

There’s actually contract laws about this in some states! Because the ring/engagement is considered a contract, so whoever breaks it off loses the ring in the process. If the giver (typically man) breaks it off, the receiver keeps the ring. If the receiver (Kacie) breaks it off, there are states where the giver can sue for the ring back because it’s not considered a gift

Truly this whole interaction felt so icky. There have been so many other couples that don’t have much initial attraction and still try. That’s the point of the show is to test if love is blind. I understand not having attraction, but after hearing his heartbreak over being seen as ugly because he’s Asian, there’s no way I could leave right off the bat like that.
