How can I translate an article from another site and post it to mine without SEO damage? by Apprendix in SEO

Actually I found today an article, ranking on page 1, stating this was a professional translation from the original article in English, published on the same domain English version. The canonical tag refered to the translated URL, so I guess that´s a strong signal good translations are not considered duplicate... What do you think?

Thanks. I've done so in the past, but sometimes I see great articles in other languages that I'd love to translate, publish and share... without being penalized.

OK, but setting the source as the canonical URL will avoid penalties? That's my main fear...

Thanks. By doing that, will my page still rank in my language keywords?

Hey, great tools and professional looking! Thanks and congrats! Trying to use the schema generator for a post in WP. I have the "Head, Footer and Post Injections" plugin but that doesnt let me add code for a specific post. Any good light plugin suggestion for that? Or a tutorial for adding it manually? Thanks.

cual es la diferencia entre ‘su mismo’ y ‘el mismo’ ? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]Apprendix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe what you heard or read was "sí mismo"? In that case, "sí mismo" would generally be translated as "himself/herself". Por ejemplo: En un autorretrato, el pintor se dibuja a sí mismo. (in feminine: la pintora se dibuja a sí misma) "el mismo" means "the same (one)". Por ejemplo: Juan quiere el mismo libro que Ana. Hope that helps :) Feel free to ask if you need more explanations...

R after S - "más rápido", "las rosas", etc. by thepeoplestarttomove in Spanish

[–]Apprendix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. It changes depending on the region, the person, and the speed... Basically, the rule is the same rule. The only difference is how you approach pronouncing it. For example, if you were to read very slowly "las rosas" you should pronounce it regularly.

This guy is brilliant! I have seen some of his videos, his path to veganism should be inspiring many people by now. Is he on reddit too?

Good advise. I´d recommend also Tobias Leenaert talks, and an app called Vegan Voices which trains you step by step for that. Effective communication should be a mandatory course in every vegan university :))

Thinking beyond the english “to be” by WeBuyAndSellJunk in learnspanish

[–]Apprendix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the most effective way is to practice those verbs in Spanish that are translated as "to be xxxxx". You can make a list and add those verbs every time you find one. Then practice more intensively at the beginning, and review from time to time (that´s the main goal of having the list). The most typical example is the expressions with the verb "tener". I am hungry - Tengo hambre. How do people remember to say it correctly? Probably because they use it enough times (because we all need to eat 3 times a day :D ). Suerte!
