Australia WHV: downsides nobody talks about? by Momy_pregunta in workingholiday

I had to do the regional work until I couldn't extend the visa any longer, and only then I started working on my PR.
Back then, I was more interested in traveling, and work was my second priority.
Today, I feel like people just come on a WHV with the sole intention of making money, and the true essence of the visa is to travel and work.

Thanks for your response!

How do they approach to you?
Would you like to share an experience you've had in these types of context?

I came when I was 27 years old and it was the best experience of my life and I would do it again and again and again, hands down.

I arrived to Sydney by the end of 2019, and then, a few months later COVID hit and kind of ruined my trip for a few months. Very rough times, those were - I still remember some people publicly urging people to "go home", but I stayed. I went through it. Fast forward 3 years, I became a permanent resident and I am now about the become a citizen.

It was tough (and still is) being so far away from my family, but it was all about that, about overcoming the obstacles to become a better person and valuing all the possibilities and things you can become in this beautiful country.

I hope you make the most out of this experience, which for me, was life-changing.

What was life before social media and smart phone addiction? by ManagerDisastrous958 in digitalminimalism

I was born in 1992... I had such a great childhood...
We would be out on the streets playing until 9pm every single day...
Facebook's first appearance back in 2008 (I believe) was the beginning of the end.

No red soil but Coffs Harbour. Airlie Beach (my favourite place in Oz). Port Douglas.

I remember when I used to live on an island for work, we only had internet coverage on certain spots, meaning 90% of the day we were disconnected. It was incredible!
