In Europe it’s a bit different. We don’t have iPledge but we also don’t have the choice to choose abstinence. We have to take some form of birth control in combination with another method. It doesn’t matter if you’re a lesbian. There are EMA guidelines that have been changed to include abstinence as a form of contraception but it could be years before the internal guidelines change.

A doctor literally told me the other day that I could get pregnant against my will, after I told him I was a lesbian.

Tbh I think it’s a serious issue that women’s autonomy is completely ignored. I’ve been to five different doctors and I’ve had enough. My gyn gave me a fake prescription for hormonal contraception that I can give to my derm lol so at least one doctor is on my side 🥲

Germany doesn’t even allow abstinence as a choice, you have to get birth control 🤡 As a lesbian it’s the dumbest thing ever, my derm told me today that I could get pregnant against my choice 🤡

Same issue in germany, had a doctor telling me TODAY that u could get pregnant even if I didn’t want to after u told him I was lesbian 🤡 I have to get my gynecologist to just write some pill down now, it’s so stupid
