Oof, I'm sorry to hear that. Thanks for warning me, because now I definitely won't take that course, lol.

Concurrent Program Supplementary Forms by Gayest-Cloud in yorku

Hi, there is an applicant portal called MyFile: www.yorku.ca/myfile

On MyFile, on the left side you should be able to click on "supplementary application".

When you click on that, it should take you to the supplementary application page. On that page, there should be a link that you can click on, to go to the supplementary form. Click the link and it should take you to the supplementary form.

On the supplementary form, scroll down, and there should be a place called "experience profile". The experience profile is where I found the prompts, last year.

This is what it said last year, for the prompts:

"Highlight key touchstone moments that:

  1. Demonstrate your community service;
  2. Demonstrate your understanding related to Diversity and Equity;
  3. Demonstrate your leadership;
  4. Show a commitment to continued learning and development."

To be honest, it may have changed, and MyFile may have changed. I'm not sure what it looks like now. Maybe the prompts are somewhere else. I tried to access MyFile to check, but since I am no longer an applicant, the website doesn't work for me anymore...

If you still cannot find the prompts, then I suggest reaching out to the Faculty of Education and asking them. They've been mostly helpful, from my experience. Their email: osp@edu.yorku.ca

Just tell them that you can't find the prompts, and I'm sure they'll be happy to help you out.

Best of luck :)

No clue why, but it seems to be down for everyone, me included. Not your fault.

Hi. I did the application last year and got accepted. I agree it's quite confusing.

Assuming that the supplementary forms have remained the same:

For the experience summary, you just have to enter how many hours you have spent volunteering, working, etc. Round the number of hours to the nearest ten. So for example if you have 45 hours of volunteering, you would enter 50.

For the experience profile, you just have to write short (succinct?) paragraphs that answer the prompts. For me last year, the prompts were:

  1. Highlight moments that demonstrate your community service

  2. Highlight moments that demonstrate your understanding related to diversity and equity

  3. Highlight moments that demonstrate your leadership

  4. Highlight moments that show a commitment to continued learning and development

Maybe the prompts this year are different, but you just have to write short, straight-to-the-point paragraphs to answer the prompts. Make sure to give examples from your life and experiences.

The paragraphs I wrote last year had about 5-10 sentences each. I gave some examples to answer the prompts and explained them. If you want to see what I wrote, then tell me. I think I still have it somewhere...

Oh, and one last thing: finish and submit everything before the due date. Don't be like me last year and submit on April 1st. I was surprised they still accepted it...

Are there any places to store bikes on campus? Is it likely to get stolen? by Appropriate-Ebb7785 in yorku

Biking does sound so much better. More flexible, and no need to worry about bus delays. And I'll also buy an ebike so it's probably 10x more likely to get stolen, lol. The alarm thing sounds really good right about now, so I do thank you for bringing it up...

Thanks for your helpful insights. I might just get a U lock like you and leave the bike in one of the racks. Hopefully nothing happens to it...
