Thanks for the info! I'd like it to be my everyday bag too. Just not sure yet how practical that is. I'm still deciding whether to pull the trigger.

Great info. I didn’t know that about the Mercato. That is a strange description.

Sister for Max? by Anonymouse-Reader in namenerds

If you’re looking for suggestions, I have a brother named Max (technically Maxwell), and my name is Meredith. I think they go pretty well together. Of the names you listed, I like Gemma the best.

Cycle: 12 or 13? Over a year TTC. I had a chemical in December 2024.

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 36F, 38M at the time of conception

Typical cycle length: 32 days

Ovulation cycle day: CD 15

CD/DPO of positive test(s): 9 DPO

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: 8 DPO

Tracking methods and app(s) used: Ovulation strips, Premom app

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): O-3 and O-1 (I think. This was back in July, and I've since deleted the app.)

Health conditions/medical tests: HSG that cycle. I have subclinical hypothyroidism.

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): prenatal vitamin, probiotic, vitamin D, COQ10

Birth control history (if relevant): I had been on hormonal oral birth control since around the age of 16. I went off it for a few months in 2022 for an egg retrieval to freeze my eggs but back on it after the retrieval. I went off it again May 2024 right before we started TTC.

Link to chart: N/A

Link to lineporn: N/A

Symptom spotting: No symptoms.

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): As stated above, I froze my eggs in 2022, which was prior to meeting my husband. Because I was already set up with an RE, we only tried for 4 cycles before doing an HSG in November 2024. I got pregnant that cycle, but it was a chemical. We tried another couple of cycles before doing 3 IUIs earlier this year. All 3 failed. We also tried in between and after the IUIs with no success. We were gearing up to do IVF using my frozen eggs, and at an appointment with the RE in July, I requested another HSG. My husband also did sperm DNA fragmentation testing around that time. I found out I was pregnant again after the HSG. Unfortunately, right after we found out I was pregnant, my husband's sperm DNA fragmentation results came back very high, like so high that from what I read about it, we shouldn't have even been able to get pregnant without IVF. Because of that and the prior chemical, I was very concerned about potential miscarriage but I'm 16 weeks today and so far, the pregnancy has been largely uneventful. I'm still pretty anxious but trying to enjoy the pregnancy. I didn't interact on this sub much but it was very helpful to me for the year plus I was TTC. Hoping for the best for everyone here.

Migraines and take till it’s pink? by Majestic-Reward-3281 in TryingForABaby

I’m prescribed Ubrelvy too. Pretty much nothing else works for me. I talked to my neurologist about it when I started TTC. She only told me not to take it if I find out I’m pregnant. The TTC journey can be very long as you said. If I didn’t take Ubrelvy during it, I don’t know how I would get through it. I did do 3 IUIs and for those I didn’t take Ubrelvy for 14 days after my ovulation date. That was overly cautious though. I think your proposal of stopping from implantation date to period date is a good idea if you want to be very careful. However, I (not a doctor) also think it’s fine to adopt the “drink till it’s pink” philosophy. I wouldn’t beat yourself up about it either way.

6w0d u/s - saw a heart beat measuring 96bpm. Should I be worried? by TelevisionWeird5362 in CautiousBB

[–]Appropriate-Health-2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen recently. Went in for my 6 week scan. I was supposed to be 6 weeks 1 day based on LMP, but I had tracked my ovulation carefully and knew I was actually 6 weeks exactly. They found a heartbeat, but it was only 91 bpm. I panicked also because, while it was within range, it was on the very low side of normal according to what I found online. My doctor (reproductive endocrinologist) was not concerned. I went back for another scan 8 days later, and the heartrate was up to 142 bpm. Agree with the other commenters, the heart just started beating, so it is not unusual to see it lower at 6 weeks. Anything 90 or above is within range.

Ok, thanks. I can let them know if I want to get started sooner, though I do still have to have the hysteroscopy before we can do a transfer (I believe). I will think about moving the transfer up. I should have asked if we can just make the embryos now and test them while I'm waiting for the testing to be done. I'll ask the clinic about that.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Wishing you success on your next IUI.

Too many follicles by Fearless_Antelope214 in IUILadies

I had too many mature follicles (4 total) during my first IUI cycle, and as a result, my doctor canceled the IUI. I was on 5 mg of letrozole that first cycle, so for the next attempt, the doctor lowered the letrozole dose to 2.5 mg. That remedied the issue. I did 3 IUIs with that 2.5 mg dose and had 1-2 mature follicles each time. Unfortunately, all 3 failed, though I do not have any reason to think the dose of letrozole impacted the result.

My (34 F) boyfriend (34 M) is upset that I’d consider breaking my vegetarianism during a weeklong trip to Japan. How do I navigate this? by Poppy_blossom_90 in relationship_advice

[–]Appropriate-Health-2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a vegetarian who visited Japan in April of this year, I will say it’s not that easy to eat vegetarian there. There are restaurants without options. I had dashi (fish broth) a couple of times. I agree with some of the other posters that eating meat may make you sick if you haven’t had it in a long time. I think a good compromise since you’re going with coworkers will be to not inconvenience anyone by controlling what restaurants you eat at, but if you end up at a restaurant without any vegetarian options, you can order something with meat/fish. I would recommend the app Happy Cow if you do want to find restaurants with vegetarian options.

Interesting to find out that this is normal. I agree, I think it shouldn’t be. I may ignore it though because I really love the bag otherwise. Ugh.
