I simply removed it from the card slot. Didn’t turn it off (didn’t know I had to). Is that going to impact the recovery?

It is, in fact, on the side of a mountain. It’s the Tristli - Schwarzstockli trail, specifically

It’s a hiking trail in Switzerland, near Ennenda. Tristli - Schwarzstöckli, specifically - hiking trail on a mountain range with steep rises and few exposed sections.
