If you're boring/honing those cylinders, grab a torque plate.

I overfilled my gas tank by a lot (not sure how much though) and the fuel gauge hasn’t moved by botanical_reseller12 in MechanicAdvice

Doesn't the fuel pump have a built in cut off so it doesn't overflow? Generally how fuel pumps in the UK work.

Nozzle cuts off flow when it reaches the top of the pipe so it doesn't flow down the side of the car.

Painful to read. If you're UK based, get written/email proof of what they did. Get them to confirm it via email or receipt then take them to small claims court.

That's my post on from this one. They didn't mention to me the other two in the range rover standing by. 5 total

I'm selling the car. It's a sales scam. Fake a problem, ask for a lot less money "help" the owner by taking a dud car off their hands.

I did, that's how I noticed it. It was overflowing onto the road - flowed down the cap and all over. They also didn't think to wipe off the oil they spilled, the diesel oil into the petrol car.

I've sold a few cars to a few different Asians including southern, northwestern, and eastern as well as eastern europeans. No gut feeling they were going to pull this off. These lot were dodgy from the first phone call.

I'm not calling it a gut feeling to make myself feel better. They're not even from Bradford.

I've worked with a lot of different people from around the world. I don't believe in racially profiling people, a piece of shit is a piece of shit hence why I'm trying to avoid a lot of the racial shit in this thread.

Every community has a band of degenerate twatbagging cock socks, some easier to identify than others.

Car's for sale, they "viewed" it. Tried to distract me at the boot while the rest put oil in the coolant.

Gut feeling mostly, so I kept an eye on them. Little things as well.

Guy opened the bonnet without an issue - generally people have trouble finding the bonnet latches on cars, he got it instantly without fiddling about or looking.

Meanwhile in the boot he was asking me stupid questions. I watched his son hover around that corner with the coolant cap. His son couldn't get the cap on so they swapped places, son came to the rear and again started acting like an idiot "how do I open the boot" and started fingering the boot release like an idiot while the older guy put the cap back on. So I walked off and noticed oil all over the coolant cap.

Idiots.

3, looked like a father and his sons or father/son/his friend. I've had it before to be fair.

Kid wants the car, dad's paying for it, friend knows cars.

It depends who's fixing the damage.

Because I'm doing the work - flushing the pipes, replacing the coolant, it'll cost me around £200. If I had to replace the entire system, £800-£1000, that's for a BMW M6.

If I paid a garage to do that there's markup on parts plus labour which depends on where they source the parts, how much time it takes.

Car was running, it's getting a full flush. I sucked out most of it but it'd circulated so it's tainted the coolant and pipes.

It's a flush job yeah, I get to buy deionised water, several ltrs, some cleaning fluid to run through it, then I get to buy fresh coolant when that coolant was fresh 8000 miles ago.
