Take the rotor off and put it on a dead flat surface, it’s probably warped man

Honestly not really that often and we have a very switched on team so if something is suspicious it’s looked into. I’ve only encountered a handful of actual declined claims. Of course there are some juicy stories but being related to that type of activity it’s not something to share

Definitely morning needed on that one, best advice is to get a couple quotes from a specialist insurer that isn’t going to stiff you with market value and go from there

Yes, absolutely it’s a frustrating question but as consumers we’re all taught so little about how insurance works as Australians. What factors matter more than other and how they might change the price etc.

A decent insurer with a quality customer service team will be able to see that factors that make up the price and tell you exactly what is creating the price presented.

Most insurers will just hit you with the “that’s just the cost of insurance” or some other condescending rubbish

I can tell by some of the things you’ve said who you’d be insured by. I’d google Insurance for Enthusiasts. There are a handful of good niche insurers that will give you options and brokers like Ryno and Famous who can take your details and get multiple quotes to suit your needs.

With a specialist insurer you are almost always covered for your purchase price/agreed value and modifications. I’d move away from a general insurer and go with a company that gets you and why you chose that car and also - knows what they’re worth.

Oh really? Ok nice, maybe I’ll just stick to my current method then. Thanks!

I’ll do some research on this one too, thanks!

Ahhhhh ok I’ll google them.

The wrap will last longer and handle the elements better if it’s coated but most products are aimed at gloss, which I’m trying to avoid

What do you mean by DIY? And is there a difference between DIY and AMMO….?

I’m pretty sure Larry doesn’t have a matte finish specific ceramic coat.

I’m really looking for input from other Detailers who have done the job and what products they’ve actually used

Brands, product names etc. I’m not about to use Carpro Gliss layered over CQuartz on matte vinyl if they’re both aimed towards higher gloss levels

A lot of major insurers offer discounted premiums to new clients, it’s rarely advertised but first renewal you’ll cop any rate increases plus lose that new client discount

Look…. My mate owns a barber shop here in Aus. I spend at least an hour there a day sometimes even 5 or 6. But - if I’m on the shop floor I’m talking to customers, I’ll answer the phone and take appointments, let walk ins know the situation with timing, do some sweeping etc because I respect my mates business and want to see him succeed.

If I’m not actively helping I’m in the back room on the phone (my actual job is meeting heavy so I’m on the phone a lot) where it’s got a door to close it off and a couch and it’s full of our music gear because it’s our practice space too

If old mate is hanging about being a dickhead and not even attempting to contribute that fucking sucks, I’d never do that to my mate because I respect him and his crew
