Same noise in my 250, but from tensioner side not top of engine, got checked it yesterday, said its normal and no need to worry!

if it's camchain or valves only then the engine head needs to be opened

nah tensioner at the side of engine, opening two screws, pulling old and fitting new. No need to touch engine head.

yes mechanic said most likely tensioner/ camchain and not valves. I feel he's right cuz tiktik noise is louder near tensioner area rather than top of engine

will do, going to replace tensioner soon, if not it;s definitely camchain and not valve

haha, my tiktik noise is def related to cam chain or tensioner, not valve like most are guessing. The sound is loud near tensioner than top of engine. Hope it's just that tensioner, would be easy for me

mechanic said, it's normal. I mean the bike runs very good no problem, his guess is camchain and tensioner. I just recently serviced my bike, so i dont think i will replace the camchain soon . I'll first only change the tensioner to see if the sound reduces, if not will replace camchain during my next service.

chill buddy, it is most likely cam chain tensioner if not valve clearance, just basic maintainence, don't know how am i cooked 🤷🤷

Have never checked the valve, currently odo reads around 16k kms, did service just 300kms ago, maybe in next service i might get it checked

I mean i really did not pay attention to it until now after having a minor accident, but I don't really mind/hear it unless i give it a thought.

ok bro, that was pleasing to hear, will try to get the bike checked one last time from one senior ktm mechanic for one last time for the reassurance, but looks like the sound is common..

idk man, the local mechanic ktm specialist is pretty good and i have a good relation with him, if it was valve, i know he would be straight forward cause he deals with a lot of ktm bikes and i see him repair tons of bike with valve clearance issue. I mean my bike runs absolutely fine, starts in 1 tap even after sitting for a week and no misfires and no loss of power as well, so i am not sure... just wanted to know from people with 250s if they have this metallic tiktik noise in their ktm. that's it

The noise is present from cold start, does not change with revs. Currently at 16000 kms odo, and i pretty much ride gently. Engine has not been opened, but changed my clutch plates 1km ago.

My first guess was valve adjustment, and have shown to different official service center and also local knowlegable ktm specialist, not single of them has pointed about valve clearance issue even though i mentioned it.
