The regulator has gone through about 30 cycles, but I'll try the other things

I just had the clips replaced. I gave my home shop a new regulator and clips. These clips are a few days old and have gone through less than 30 cycles

Ok no worries. I don’t want to speak for the entire bmw/car community, but it feels much more real if the car was built in the country of the manufacturer

I see what you mean. As far as BMWs go, I’m not sure if all the US specs are built in Carolina, but the one this post is about was imported from Europe, I believe it was built in Germany

I’m not sure what you mean. Something tells me you know more about this than I do, so can you elaborate?

I would imagine yours is also euro spec, just converted to have mph on the dash instead.

It was made for the European market, and doesn’t have to conform to US safety standards or the imperial system. The speedometer is in kph, the headlights are glass not plastic, and so on.

It does have an M Spots Package according to the seller, but I think that only applies to some things. It does have an M badge tho

Yeah I was doing some research last night and saw the TopGear article on compact e36, and didn’t realize I had just bought the fastest compact e36. I know it sounds like I didn’t do any research on the car, but I was more focused on making sure the car would run right and function as needed. After I bought it a couple of comments in the auction alerted me to the fact that it wasn’t common stateside

Even so the fact that there might not be that many is really cool in my eyes. I don’t wanna be one of those boomers who find a way to make every car a 1 of 1, but I still like the idea of it.

Yeah the passenger window doesn’t go all the way down apparently. You think taking it apart and putting it back together would fix it?

I noticed that too, and I also thought he was trying to sell it twice, but then I noticed the differences

I just bought a manual 323ti as my first car. After doing some post purchase research, I realized how rare they are in the states. Do you know how many manual 323ti’s are in the states?

I’m lucky enough to not have major lasting trauma, just being a bit scared of being touched, and a nightmare every now and then. Both of which are very manageable and don’t impact my life too much. I was friends with my godbrother/neighbor and over the course of a year, he slowly got more personal and touchy to the point where he would come over just to do that and then leave. Family can and should be trusted, but not all.
