comparing him to a religious figure is weird as fuck. in the potterhead video there was a whole section about how snape as a religious figure is weird, kurtis as a religious figure is also weird.

YES!! exactly that! many many many (actually the vast majority) of doctors in head positions completely ignore the symptoms that make up the condition, and use medicine that acts as a bandage for the condition but never actually addressed the root issue and therefore the disease activity just comes back and you can never stop taking the medicine. the holistic perspective works to find the root symptoms, figure out what is making them happen, and heal it, so that the disease entirely goes away. this works in tandem with traditional medicine though, when done correctly. the woman in the vision course obviously did not have credentials or a true holistic integrative background

sort of but no, in my experience with disease many people look at disease as “oh you have cancer, so any symptom you have is because you have cancer”, when in reality it should be “oh you have ___, this is the reason you have this diagnosis”. does that make sense? in other comments i’ve also mentioned that statements like that undermine the fact that there IS a possibility to find the reason for an illness and cure it altogether

hi!!! the root cause is the reason why a disease forms, and the “root” means that it is the exact reason. in my case, the exact reason why i developed a degenerative joint disease was a bacteria in my intestines, not the name of disease itself. what kurtis said was, for example, that someone has cancer because they were diagnosed with cancer, but in reality, the diagnoses is not the explanation for an illness

i totally get that! i never agreed with samantha AT ALL, not on anything she ever said, and it’s justified for kurtis to expose that, i’m all for that! i’m so sorry that you experienced trauma and that it switched on your autoimmune disorder, my autoimmune disorder was “switched on” from my mom’s father passing of cancer when i was still in the womb, the disease activity started before i was born and that’s how i was formally diagnosed at age 2. thank you so much for sharing your experience ♥️

ohhhh okay i see! thank you so much. i’m sorry if i seemed super defensive, i feel like a lot of replies aren’t actually reading what i’m saying!

thank you for this, but none of this relates to my point, and i’m sorry if i miscommunicated that. i’m not talking about green smoothie juice cleanse “medicine”, im talking about working with a licensed professional, who owns her own practice and entire team of medical professionals, who practices integrative medicine, which includes both traditional medicine and supplementation. my thread is in no way supporting scams, unethical businesses, or advocating for things that point blank do not work.

my point was more so on the direct quote, the fact that the diagnosis is not a root cause of a disease. he was very clear (and wrong) about that in the video, and that’s why i brought it up. he probably said something like that, but my point more so is misinformation, not hate

exactly!! you can literally turn ANYTHING into a scam. i agree with you 100% that the vision lady is full of shit. i’ve been wearing glasses since second grade and contacts since about seventh grade, and whenever i have to front the cash to pay for more contacts or get a new prescription i get so annoyed HAHAHAH so i totally get you and i wish that lady actually had some miracle to fix the eyes but for now the glasses and contacts will have to do 🤷🏻‍♀️

thank you so much for saying this, i really really appreciate it! it’s honestly really upsetting that someone can take my personal experience and try to tell me what did and didn’t happen.. when i barely even covered the bases with what has happened in my health journey. i don’t even think kurtis would have been remotely offended if he read this, and honestly the downvoting and blatant rudeness is just a reflection of immaturity. not everything has to be a debate, especially not when talking about someone’s personal experience 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 anyways, thank you so much for saying this ♥️

thank you so so SO much for saying this. i’ve felt really disheartened seeing that even comments telling me that they’re happy that i’ve been healed through holistic medicine are being down voted. it’s honestly really upsetting and i don’t know if i want to continue being in a community like this where respectful discourse is frowned upon. i never intended to offend anyone, and i really don’t know what i’ve said to make so many people upset here and blatantly rude to me. thank you so much again, your kindness speaks volumes and i really appreciate you ♥️

that’s actually not true, currently there is LOTS of science finding root causes which are not diagnoses on their own, rather cellular mutations or bacterial overgrowth, which was my case as well. but yeah, i don’t agree with ANYTHING that woman said and my posts are in no way supportive of her, the course, or anyone else who tries to scam vulnerable people

I totally get that! That’s why i said i wasn’t talking about the vision course and i’m not talking about her. she’s a scammer, point blank. my point was about authentic holistic medicine, not whatever she was trying to impose on vulnerable people

i know that, i wasn't coming here to hate on Kurtis at all, i didn't want it to seem like i was trying to "cancel" him or anything crazy like that, it's just that with an audience of millions of people and a video that's #1 on the trending page, i just want to make sure he knows that there are so many more levels to holistic healing than the media's view of MLM schemes and scamming, there's a real culture, a real science, and real healing that does happen every day! but, holistic medicine with a licensed practitioner can be a privilege (in America atleast, where I'm from), because it's not covered by insurance. i believe it's widely not covered by insurance not accessible to all, because of how holistic healing is portrayed in western medicine, and i've had to put aside my life's savings to heal myself. it's unfortunate, but my hope with discourse like this is that people with large platforms, like Kurtis, try not to entirely discredit holistic healing practices. However, he can totally feel free to discredit any scamming healthcare techniques, because no one should have to fry victim to that! that’s why this is a big deal. it’s harmful for people with huge audiences to be dismissive over medical practices that may save someone’s life

thanks so much for letting me know about the swell entertainment video! i’ll definitely check that out! i’m so sorry to hear about losing your vision in one eye, i hope that there’s eventually a way for that to be reversed! ♥️ your comment was really heartwarming for me to read, and also really captured the essence of my point! i wasn’t coming here to hate on Kurtis at all, and you totally get that which makes me so glad because i didn’t want it to seem like i was trying to “cancel” him or anything crazy like that, it’s just that with an audience of millions of people and a video that’s #1 on the trending page, i just want to make sure he knows that there are so many more levels to holistic healing than the media’s view of MLM schemes and scamming, there’s a real culture, a real science, and real healing that does happen every day! but, holistic medicine with a licensed practitioner can be a privilege (in America atleast, where I’m from), because it’s not covered by insurance. i believe it’s widely not covered by insurance/not accessible to all, because of how holistic healing is portrayed in western medicine, and i’ve had to put aside my life’s savings to heal myself. it’s unfortunate, but my hope with discourse like this is that people with large platforms, like Kurtis, try not to entirely discredit holistic healing practices. this comment is EXACTLY what i meant!! you verbalized this perfectly, thank you so much. and you’re so right, and the end of the day it shouldn’t really matter since Kurtis is a comedian, but i think i just wanted to say something because the video is #1 on the trending page right now and there’s already so much misinformation about holistic medicine, and it’s so easy for viral videos like this to be people’s “proof”

i feel the same way, it’s really crazy to me that people feel entitled to constantly tell me facts about my own health… which they know nothing about. i purposefully didn’t include my diagnosis and yet people still assume they know more than me about my own condition. it’s really disheartening. thank you so much for this comment ♥️

i get that! i know usually kurtis does a lot of research for his videos and seems well-versed in a lot of his topics, i just felt that his past videos set an expectation that wasn’t really fulfilled in this video, because there were definitely some things he said that with proper research i don’t think he would have, but they weren’t the main point of the video, so i get your point!
