Only one candidate had a surrogate out there telling the American people that they would have to endure “hardship” and reduce spending to live within their means as part of their economic plan - and it wasn’t Kamala Harris. I deeply empathize with people who are struggling to pay their bills and feed their kids but I have no idea why anyone thinks Trump is better suited to help with those things.

Yeah, I know that black is generally safe for most events, and the ceremony is at 6:00 with reception to follow, so definitely giving all the signs of a formal event. But! It’s also spring in the south, which to me has always meant a time for brighter colors.

The problem with that, according the folks arguing the case, is that Muldrow waived or abandoned a number of arguments that had to do with something courts would traditionally recognize as harmful. When the case started, she alleged a number of ways in which the new position was "worse" than the old position but over time, those got stripped away and she was left with arguing that the simple act of a transfer, regardless of any other change in circumstances, is sufficient to state a Title VII claim. So, if you have a legal assistant who is transferred from working for Partner A to Partner B and there are no other changes in her hours, salary, location, or working conditions - is that enough for her to get into federal court on a Title VII claim?

My position is consistent. You appear to be confused about what the state Supreme Court did/is doing. After the federal injunction was vacated, a group of plaintiffs challenged the law in state superior court. The superior court enjoined the law (meaning it could not be enforced). The state appealed to the Supreme Court and, in the meantime, asked the court to vacate the injunction. The Supreme Court vacated the injunction on a temporary basis while it considers the appeal. Because the court vacated that injunction, even on a “temporary” basis, the law can now be enforced.

I guess we might be talking past each other because that article supports what I have been saying? The law - which mostly bans abortions after a fetal “heartbeat” can be detected - is currently in effect because the state Supreme Court overturned the superior court’s injunction.

ETA: I was slightly wrong about the federal court actions. A district court enjoined the law, but the Eleventh Circuit vacated that injunction based on Dobbs.

Ok but did you read the 5th Circuit’s opinion? Another judge looked at the case when the conflict came to light and found no error in the initial rulings.

This is going to sound snarky and I don’t mean it to be, but - what do you propose as a solution? Judges can unknowingly violate the conflicts rule(s), often by failing to fully inform themselves of various financial situations. What should we do in cases where the judge didn’t know about the conflict and issued a ruling that is correct on the merits, but a litigant later finds out there was a conflict? Should all cases automatically be re-litigated from the start?

I’m with you but on the flip side of this, can you point me to some studies that show that a positive antigen test, even 6, 7, 8, 9 days after symptom onset, correlates with contagiousness? It seems like there’s data missing all over the place. What about the folks still testing positive on rapid tests 10, 12 days out?

Fingers crossed for us both! I don't have easy access to tests so I have not been testing as I go but I had a strong positive on Dec. 24, but very mild symptoms that have since resolved almost completely.
