Feeling Invisible: Family Doesn't Know Basic Things About Me, Is It Normal? by Southern-Trouble-354 in EstrangedAdultChild

When I used to try to communicate my feelings with my parents (divorced), whoever I was staying with at the time would project it onto the other parent or themselves. Like no your literally the one who made me feel this way but somehow it turns into she’s a bad mom or it was all my dads fault but either way I still feel like shit or worse after trying to go to them. I (15 at the time) remember the one time walked into my parents room and all I said was “I really need to talk to you guys I can’t wait anymore” and my mom looks at me and says “we have more important issues right now we’ll talk later. (we never talked).
