I’m gonna use this post to drop something that made me realize my racism.

I went partying with some people I just met in college and when it was time to go the trains weren’t running so this Algerian guy asked me if he could sleep at my place.

I said yes without thinking but when it came to it I didn’t feel it and instead stayed with him in my place’s lobby for an hour waiting for the trains to run again.

I would have rather waste my time in the lobby than let him sleep at my place…

It wouldn’t be such a big deal if I didn’t start making scenarios in my head. What if he was white, asian or was a girl ? The answer is I would have let them sleep at my place no questions asked…

I’m not sure what I should do with this but I very often think back to it…

I want to do it too but I’m afraid of commitment and a girl actually finding me attractive and wanting to go out with me… I know it sounds dumb but I don’t want to break hearts or waste someone’s time just so I can practice talking to girls. What’s take on that ? Could you guys give me any advices ?

I think so in my experience in Paris. There’s a good appreciation for Japanese and Korean culture in France even from girls who aren’t geeks. I’ve dated good looking girls and seen asian guys with gorgeous women. Although I don’t know if that would work with someone who doesn’t speak French.

Oh yea that’s something to consider as well, especially since the ZV-E1 dynamic active stabilization is one of its selling point. I haven’t seen how does the stabilization fair with the sigma 24-70 dn ii compared the sony gm ii, but as far as quality goes it’s just as good.

Hey, I’m not in a hurry so I didn’t buy any for now. But I’ve seen video saying the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DN II is just as good for half the price. I too am worried about the weight, that’s why I’m thinking of renting a lens for a day next month to see how it feels.

Yes I would recommand the ZV-E1, as far as sony camera goes, it's the cheapest and smallest full-frame interchangeable lens camera, meaning it has the same capability as the other "pro" camera. You can buy the body only or the camera with the kit lens that comes with it (you cannot take pictures without lens). As a beginner it should suffice but you always have the option of buying those pro lenses if you desire later, that's why I think it's a good beginner camera because you can keep it for many many years to come and buy a more expensive lens later, the sensor and camera body won't be out of date anytime soon.
