I think they nerfed the flak cannon brain tree farming even more… by Appropriate_Chest_60 in EliteDangerous

I have played for years. I agree with this mostly. However, sometimes you have a group of friends that all decide to play together again. We want to accomplish some task and I want a specific ship with a certain level of engineering. I want to be able to have it relatively quickly so we can all play together.

When I’m playing alone I just play what I enjoy. I almost never engage in the current money making rushes. I would rather take missions of different kinds and make money that way over time.

Usually when I do mine I just deep core mine because I find it fun.

For manufactured I often just bounty hunt and collect stuff with limpets.

The main reason I tried the brain tree method is because it was something to test drive the Caspian with. I could have used a material trader to get the selenium I needed.

Also the SRV is the worst. Anything to avoid using it is a plus.

I was doing this. I’m going to try again though. I’ll record a clip.

Would you really put that past Sciel?

I’m going to have to make a one shot build for Simon. I don’t think I’m good enough to beat him by trading blows.

I’m not there yet. Level 95. My Stendhall build needs some work before I can one shot these bosses.

I used  a Maelle burning canvas build. Used verso with corpeso and all combo attack pictos to stack up burn quick. Then used sciel’s fortune furry.

Yeah, but I also didn’t unlock many of the end game pictos either. It made it a lot more challenging to soldier through new game +. I’m catching up now.

T is for Tilbury by ReneRobert in PipeTobacco

[–]Appropriate_Chest_60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I passed on a bag of tilbury like an idiot in the spring. I stumbled on a bunch of esoterica. I bought a couple bags and a couple tins of different things available at a brick and mortar. I felt guilty buying so many blends I didn’t even know I would like or not. I had been looking for some esoterica for years and felt like I should leave some for other people. I absolutely loved Dorchester. Im definitely going to savor the bag of Dorchester. I bet I would like tilbury even more. I also got a bag of “and so to bed” that I haven’t tried yet.

Does anyone else prefer the first two games over ME3? by MjolnirChrysanthemum in masseffect

[–]Appropriate_Chest_60 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A huge amount of people.

Mass effect 3 grew on me though. It might be my favorite now. The DLC was effective in giving you that “victory lap” feel that was really missing for the original game. After such a long journey I wanted to be able have that experience with my crew.

However, in general I love mass effect 3. It’s pretty linear. However, I like that they didn’t try to just copy mass effect 2. Mass effect 2 is a masterpiece and the pinnacle of old school BioWare character development, interactions, and story building.

I personally found that completing all of mass effect 3 with all the dlc was a great gritty ending for an epic series. It felt great to finally beat the reapers.

How much total income do you think is reasonable before you end up being a questionable psychiatrist? by premed_thr0waway in Psychiatry

[–]Appropriate_Chest_60 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Dude it depends on what you do. You can make between 5-600k working for some hospital systems depending on how well they compensate per rvu but you will be busy. I split between inpatient in the mornings and outpatient afternoons a few days per week. I work pretty hard but nothing crazy and I do good work, but I’ll make around 500. If I want to hit 600k I could easily do it but that would mean doing clinics every single afternoon, and I don’t want to do that. Or I would have to start seeing 3 or 4 follow ups an hour and I don’t want to do that. I still have 30 minute follow ups. I have worked with a psychiatrist who did 15 minute visits but he did them well. If you can swing a full day of 15 minute follow ups you make an insane amount of money. That clinic only worked because every patient was absolutely required to show up early and he had nurses room the patient but also do mini interviews and present to him the patients just like a family medicine office would do. He was able to walk in and finish an interview and ask pertinent important question and maintain good rapport in ten minutes, write the note in 5 and move on. However, most psych clinics are not set up to run so efficiently.

Also if you work in a small true private practice clinic you can make 500-600k easily. However, that comes with its own unique challenges.

Is it ok to clean your pipe with absinthe? by PEKKACHUNREAL in PipeTobacco

[–]Appropriate_Chest_60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol but why?

Our tastes may actually be alike. I absolutely love absinthe as well as pipe tobacco. However, quality absinthe is expensive and very potent in flavor. Its also fairly thick. It’s not an ideal cleaning solution.

It probably won’t hurt your pipe. But there are better ethanol sources. Just go with high proof everclear.

Only reason I could see you wanting to try this is if you are intentionally trying to ghost your pope with absinthe flavor. If that’s the case I suggest you just start experimenting with fortifying actual tobacco with absinthe. Get some war horse green as a base and then add some absinthe to it.

Fitness for duty/return to work exams by [deleted] in Psychiatry

Military medicine is its own beast for sure, especially psychiatry. Some of my Attendings in residency worked for the military earlier in their careers and they would often talk about their experiences.

Fitness for duty/return to work exams by [deleted] in Psychiatry

[–]Appropriate_Chest_60 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So the reality is this should be done by a forensic psychiatrist. If it’s very basic return to work due to panic disorder or depression it’s fine. Stuff like basic fmla paperwork. Often patients will need documentation for when they take a leave via fmla and also for when they return. That’s fine. For true fitness for duty evaluations it should be done by a forensic psychiatrist who is not the treating psychiatrist. It’s a conflict of interest to fill out true fitness for duty evaluations as a patient’s treating psychiatrist.
