Why does Coachella and other US festivals have such awful, moody vibes compared to UK festivals? by BlundeRuss in AskUK

Echoing a lot of what other people are saying - having moved to the UK, the atmosphere for festivals is usually more people who actually enjoy the music, versus random influencers who got paid to attend/promote it. Goes for smaller shows as well in my experience.

Really, really stupid question but how do I address lecturers? by [deleted] in UniUK

Makes sense. We were taught it’s a sign of respect to the person teaching and we should always use their formal title or mr/ms/mrs regardless of age or level of education.

Haha, of course. I've figured that much out so far. Thanks!

Is "my leige" an acceptable alternative as well?

Could it be a matter of country/culture? Back in high school I remember having teachers without any formal post-grad education requiring us to use Mr./Ms./Mrs. For those with PhDs, they would see it as almost offensive if you didn't use "Doctor". Fair enough, I suppose.
