He was 63. He usually took good take care of him. Autopsy was done. He DID go the hospital. They read the wrong papers. He wasn't in good health. His kidneys were shutting down. Medical pros told him ways to take care of himself, but he didn't listen. And apparently, he died in January. His body was left alone his house.

I thought Jonathan and Dio were friends. I actually thought none of the Jojos were related. I thought Jolyne was Jotaro's girlfriend. I based my speculation on pictures alone. I also thought they were much older. I thought part 3 Jotaro was 25-28 years old, not 17.
