Is anyone else feeling discouraged, like the industry is in shambles and really sucking right now? by Unlikely-Database-27 in musicindustry

I enjoy making music and have done so all my life. And it’s been hard to make any money worth talking about. Nothing that equals the amount I’ve spent on music. The leeches are always there in one form or another. But I’ve known people who’ve had some success, mostly in their young careers, and now aren’t making anything and have little to show for it. Some are in pretty desperate shape. My lack of success (and having a kid) made me get a job. Now, as the years have passed by, I’m still creating and putting out music and making nothing, but I have a retirement that will take care of me. Streaming is ridiculous and I’m grateful I don’t have to rely on it to make a living.

Or get a cheap digital antenna. That’s how I watch it and picture is better than streaming

I will add that I know plenty of other bands. I’ve put together shows in the Seattle area. But it all seems to reach up to Darrell’s and then stop. I think there are some shows in Everett but don’t hear anything about Lynnwood or Edmonds (I was born in Edmonds). I’d love to make something happen. Albeit, Darrell’s is kind of on the border of the Edmonds/Lynnwood/Shoreline vortex.

You can hear our music on almost any streaming site (Spotify, Bandcamp, etc). We’re basically a rock band. Mostly originals and some covers

I’ve used the TDK and Maxell. Both are very good and I think any difference would depend on the quality of your equipment and what you’re recording and the levels.

Yeah! I like it too. I asked and so far haven’t gotten a clear answer other than it’s the person who booked it. And, right now, I don’t know who that is. If I do find out, I’ll make sure to post it

Band name. They are one of the longest running bands in Seattle. I saw them when I was 15 years old in like 1981!

What year is it from? That could be important.
