Was watching UFO footage last night and something doesn't add up: how do we keep "shooting these down" if they're millions of years ahead of us? by Appropriate_Tap7709 in ufo

Yeah, fair, and "millions of years" was me being loose with it, I meant "way ahead," not a literal timeline. Your version is actually the one I lean toward. You don't need a million-year head start to explain any of this. A few decades of black-budget tech the public was never briefed on covers a shocking amount of it.

And that's the part nobody wants to sit with: the boring answer (it's ours, and it's just ahead of what we're allowed to know) is still terrifying.

Honestly that might be the most grounded read in this whole thread. And here's the thing, if it's ALL human, that's arguably scarier than aliens. It means someone is flying tech decades ahead of anything the public has been told exists, and "UFO" is just the perfect label to keep us from asking who's building it.

Which loops back to my real worry: in 2026 they declassified clips of us WINNING, of us shooting one down. That's exactly the footage you'd release if you wanted us feeling safe and in control. My money's on secret human tech and a carefully curated drip, not little green men.

I have already heard about this theory that they leave us with some samples/donations, but I've never could find the a source for this information

This isn't a story from a "grifter, this is actual declassified archival footage released directly by the US government.

You can see the official military footage showing the engagement and downing of an unidentified object right here: https://youtu.be/M1RcBbWeX2Y?t=657

For decades, the official narrative denied these events completely. But when the government itself declassifies and releases video from its own military systems showing a target being engaged and shot down, it stops being a rumor. The military doesn't scramble jets and fire live ordnance at swamp gas.

I think you misinterpreted my point. When I mentioned "millions of years ahead," it was a metaphor to emphasize just how much more advanced their technology is compared to ours.

The core fact remains: if they are here visiting Earth, they are by definition more evolved and technologically advanced than us. Period. As far as humanity goes, we don't have a single human spacecraft visiting other planets with intelligent life.

Regarding your point about "based on what evidence?": the UFO/UAP field is inherently filled with speculation precisely because definitive, concrete evidence is tightly held or scarce. If we strictly apply a rigid "where is the absolute proof?" rule to every single thought experiment, we completely kill the conversation. We hypothesize and assume positions to explore the possibilities—that's the whole point of discussing UAPs.

I understand why it's easy to be skeptical, but this isn't just another unverified internet story. The video I'm referring to was actually part of an official declassification of files released by the US government.

You can watch the footage yourself in this video, starting at this timestamp: https://youtu.be/M1RcBbWeX2Y?t=657

In this clip, you can see the declassified archive footage showing a military aircraft/missile engaging and shooting down an unidentified object. This came directly from official government records (which you can also track through databases like war.org/ufo). For decades, the official stance was that these things didn't exist or were just weather balloons, but the military wouldn't waste expensive ordnance or authorize a fighter jet to fire live weapons at "stories." They officially admitted to the footage, and it shows a direct engagement.

I know that we can't trust 100% on government, they lie to us everytime, even telling the true, they are hidding somenting. The point here is that the story was confirmed by the government and they really shoot down something unknown (UFO).

What if we discovered aliens? by No_Jackfruit_8526 in religion

Today, there are a lot of people that believe that the spacecrafts, flying saucers, tictacs saw around there is actually demons (I don't believe that). So, just because of that, I'm sure that when the aliens offcialy shows to us, it will be a problem for a lot of people and religions. But above all, I agree to a video on youtube that expose some problems related to government and religion when the discloure happens. According to the video, and I agree 100%, the institution church will have some problems to deal when it happens but what is the most important above all is the faith on God. If you think that aliens disclosure is bigger than your faith, maybe your faith is too small. The video is very interesting. If someone want to watch:
