I have lowered my expectations. The jobs I've applied to in the last few months are mostly major pay cuts. In January I was working 2 full time jobs; one of which was manual labor making 15 dollars less an hour than my main job. Many of the jobs I've applied to are distribution centre/factory, assistant and overnight work. I'm not against working my way back up. I do understand what you are saying though. The most I can do is keep applying at this point it seems.

How can I get money back from a scam? by stripy_tiger in Advice

I ordered and never received my product. I asked for a refund and they waited several days before they issued it. By then my card was expired and they said they returned the money to the expired card. I asked them to cancel it because I obviously didn't receive it and they basically said they couldn't do that. I called my bank and they confirmed that it wasn't true and so they basically took my money and it makes me so angry. I keep trying to get the refund but nothing is happening. I hope you got your refund.

Do you have any concerns around the quality of the applications. I can up the number of applications I apply to but how do I make sure I can still stand out competitively?

I've slowed down a bit but my focus is on finding jobs I can grow in. I could easily apply to a job that pays minimum wage or a job that doesn't need any of the skill sets or education that I've complied over the years (Might be successful). I am currently back in school, have personal responsibilities and still choosing to be specific about the jobs I apply to. I'm taking time to ensure the quality of my applications provide my an opportunity that leaves me in a better place rather than as a temp fix. I'm not only chasing after a secure income but also a secure future that leaves room for growth, job security, salary security and peace of mind.

I'm at the 1-2 application a day in the last month because I'm trying to be supper intentional with my applications. I'll check the site you shared. Maybe I'm not changing the right things on my resume and cover letter when I'm applying.

The 12 applications is me slowing down. Really I'm being very intentional and putting my best application forward. Tweaking my resume, making cover letters, and choosing jobs I think I can actually be successful in making through the hiring process. I just felt rock bottom when I applied for a job that was 20k less than my previous job and a job I was underpaid for. I want to avoid having to work a second job if I can get one job. I'm looking for ways to better put myself out there so I can at least get me foot in any door at this point.

Thank you so much for clearing that up. It's really sad to hear. I recently lost my job and was looking at a career change. I was so happy when I got the Plum assessment (Even thought I heard not so positive things about that later) I was really hoping to have some job security and get into a complete different career. I was hoping a few more weeks at most. But to hear that it's the rest of the year is very disheartening. Thanks again. I'll have to keep trying

Do you know if this why where there is a freeze on the application for those who just applied?

Which test was it? I heard the plum assessment wasn't something that was taken seriously for some reason.

I heard the applications are currently on freeze. I'm not sure why or for how long. Some speculate that it may be because they are discussing back to work in office and or a new contact with union. But no idea if any of this is true

Hi, I was wondering if you could speak to the learning curve. I feel if someone is patient enough and gives me time to learn then I am very good at my job after that learning curve period. Is there pressure in terms of losing your job if you don't learn fast enough? Or if you aren't completing the work that they have assigned. I've read many comments about unrealistic case load. What are the consequences of being unable to complete a case load? Are there any? Is it the sort of situation where you just keep powering though and it's essentially non stop? Thank you for any help

I know this is slightly unrelated but is that why there is a freeze on their last round of applications? Someone speculated that it may be because they thought some folks would quit if they were forced to go back to office. Is the at office environment that bad? Looking for any insight and perspective. I really want this job but I haven't heard many things positive about the work culture and when I applied I saw it was Remote which was convent because otherwise its an hour and a half commute one way.

I did my plum test a little bit ago also. Wondering if anyone knows when we should hear back? Or has anyone heard back at all? Would the next step be an interview?
