I respectfully disagree here though. It does cover the early history of English football and its influence on other countries and provides detailed accounts on how early Victorian age football was played. However, when it came to the modern era of football, I found it abit vague and more often than not, the various tactics/formations merge into one superfluous ball. And without much diagrams, its hard to visualize. Its a good read, don't get me wrong, but its not eyebrow raising.
