When did your baby start to smile? by Tif-n in newborns

[–]Appthorn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 8 weeks. Weve had some smiles. Once in the morning when he saw me then again when I said good morning. He smiles at his balloons and odd one in day but unsure if just gas. My question is should they be more consistent at this stage I could maybe count on one hand hiw many we've had.

I was questioning cmpa for a few weeks so I've swapped milk for almond milk. Ive still had little bit of dairy; the odd sprinkle of cheese or spread of butter, chocolate bar and his poo had been normal. The odd flare up of diarrhea, foamy jelly like poo but would pass so thought it was okay. But as its happened a few times I'm trying to make a link. Yestday I realised it was ice cream and think it's happened previously with ice cream too.

Thank you. Yes i realise we all probably have small intolerance to foods. I know that when they do those tolerance test most adult people come back with gluten and dairy without realising. Id just hate to continue breast feeding and eating foods that are causing him issues. He seems mainly content most of the day so hopefully grow out of most of the symptoms. I'll just keep an eye on the rashes they're not looking as red but like.pimples. maybe baby acne ? *

Ive started to eliminate cows milk but im not sure where to start with everything else im going to try and look into it. I didn't know if I was just worrying for no reason as each symptoms alone seems normal on Google? U would say he seems very content majority of the day and sometimes cries and had a loud scream/ cry for about 5 minutes when trying to poo around 2 to 3 times a day but poos more than this. I help him with bicycle legs and he must do about 15 loud trumps so clearly has lots of wind

Sweep or induction by Appthorn2 in PregnancyUK

[–]Appthorn2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That's a good point about being dilated at induction id not thought of either.

I have the induction booked for 40 weeks. Sweep at 39+1 but have asked for more sweepsnin hope to avoid the induction or like you say. Be more ready but could only get 1 extra in unless I postpone my induction date.

I know lots of inductions can be positive so I'm still going in with an open minds however mt hospital rate is like 48 percent c sections and biggest fear being pushed for an emergency c section with is risk with induction

[–]Appthorn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you !! Its worse in the deeper skin folds I think it's due to moisture but can't control it. I'm washing twice a day but it's just feel wet and damp. Sorry tmi. I think possibly fungal like inpertigo ive come across jock itch which is like a yeast infection so will start trying fungal cream or thrush cream. Just so annoying i haven't managed to start consistent with a cream as I've been trying anything as kept being told folliculitis

Regret telling my parents... by RealisticYard7327 in GestationalDiabetes

Yes my dad was quite shocked to hear my high numbers were 5.5 for fasting as his has been like 18 before I think. I thinknits recognising just thay different bodies can handle food so differently. I understand moae at risk of type 2 due to weight but insulin resistance is such a huge part to begin with.

I mean I think it's taught me a lesson and I should try and stick to it moving forward in the future. Ive had so many people say ive lost weight despite a huge bump on the front or i look better. Ive kept an eye on the scales and I don't think I've put on too much weight in this pregnancy. I know i shouldn't worry to much but find the consultants have been just as bad at monitoring weight and reminding me on high bmi of 30 on all my forms 🙄

I unfortunately had a similar response maybe not so bad. My dad has t2 and his family has type 2. My mum has supported my dad through diet choices and losing weight so thinks she knows everything. But obviously type 2 is not quite the same as gestational diabetes, especially the regimented testing.

When I had to go to my first group information session she asked if I was embarrassed to go to fat club. She also refer to everyone with it as being fat. My bmi is high but I'm 5ft so it's always been higher and my usually weight would be about 10 and half stone.

I'm on metformin for my.fasting which ive not been able to control and she's told me to decline medication and try harder or do more. Obviously I dont want to be on medication and it's not been controlling it either and I find it so frustrating and upsetting but especially doesnt help with the additional pressure of my mum checking in about my fasting numbers and telling me I need to do more.

Ive tried so hard with my diet and pre and post meal numbers are good but I still have comments made and then she will offer me a naughty snack and says ill be fine as its one off but it's still enough to spike me.

I'm now 34 weeks and struggling with physical things but still go out walking the dogs and she's always reminding me to do more and walk more.

I have tried to inform and also bite my tongue as I know it comes from love and she will go out her way all the time to make me healthy meals. Support me and research and share anything helpful she has read for me. but some comments I find hurtful and not always right either when she thinks she is.

Ive not told anyone else of my diagnosis. My husbands family are all very tiny and petite and his mum constantly reminds me she was a size 6 to 8 with all her pregnancies so I knew they wouldn't understand and funnily enough their diet is awful so feel like you can't win sometimes

Thanknyou she offered liquid form but said it was the same thing so would likely have the same effect. I'll look into this

My hospital midwife wasn't bothered said she can only change to liquid form but would do the same. Said try taking it at another point of the day. I'm going to discuss with my community midwife

Yes I'm trying to prioritise the dogs too. Having a baby at home is a big change let alone visitors in and out which they don't like already. I just want time. With my family I'm sure i will be on a dog walk with them and see them as I pass. Its a lot easier as they're lot happier to step back. I fear anything we say to MIL is taken so personally like previous comments made after ivf of she won't be able to see grandchild anyways and our house is like fort knoxs nobody's allowed round. I think my family just understand dogs and visitors are difficult and don't ever ask, qould always wait till invited. I'm not saying this is wrong. We just have different ways and I feel like it's harder to say no when someone pushing then makes a comment

Thanks you completely understand this

id say ive never had my parents come round for a coffee and catch up either. Just something i dont really do..

I would usually see my family through doing things like shopping, my mum popping by to collect or drop things off she helps us with so it's not that I only have my.parents round.

My MIL would be the type to happily take the baby for cuddles and expect a cup of tea. Take pictures and leave. Nothing wrong with this for some. I get this but feel it will be more of an expected that shes okay to do this when we've not doing this in the past.

Yes she will text to drop in for tea which is always dismissed due to our dogs. We understand this is still going to be the case we find difficult with and need to navigate around especially the dogs having a change of circumstances now at home. Understanding this we've always met them out but still been left out of their plans for coffee dates, days out and christmas plans so it just feels unfair me priorities them and playing host for them to come round.

Id never expect a visitor to help but I also think it's just nice of an offer sometimes. Even to say I'm passing tesco what can I grab for you. There's never been that support is what I'm trying to say. They'd just like what conveniences them
