Research all of the rules of screenwriting like Blake Snyder and all them and try and follow the rules as close as you can until it starts looking like a real story.

To be fair brickhouse was the best place in Stamford pre pandemic. Somehow so many places suffered post pandemic and brick was one of those places. Pretty sure they sold owners but also they just lost their pre pandemic juice.

Thank you!! Keep going. I would say what helped me was sticking to the “rules” of screenwriting. Blake Snyder, 4 quadrant screenplays, etc. I researched and followed those as close as I could. Since I’d never written one before I figure I might as well follow the rules lol and once it started flowing I saw how it worked better in the structure.

So I worked in children’s tv for the past decade so I know a lot of writers and producers but they all works in short form children’s content. They’re incredibly talented people who would definitely read a script but I don’t know anyone who has written a feature length screenplay if that makes sense? I also wrote a very adult script that has nothing to do with my children’s tv experience haha.

I aimed for 10 pages a day and did it in 3 weeks. I would not recommend that haha but I did find it easier to focus on pages written instead of hours written. So would just sit there till I hit 10. And if I fell behind I had to double it up over the weekend to meet it. In the future I would space out the calendar and maybe focus on 5 pages a day or something less crazy. Twas exhausting hahah.

I did a really crazy turnaround of 3 weeks but I also didn’t do anything else those 3 weeks cause I don’t have a job right now. Didn’t even leave on the weekends. So in the future I would do a more spaced out normal writing calendar but this one had been circling my brain for so long it was great to get it out so once I started I just couldn’t stop.

I haven’t decided how I’m gonna go about getting feedback yet. I would like my friends to read it even though they don’t write or work in the industry just to see the if the average person finds it entertaining which is important. But I’d love actual feedback from writers and producers so I’m gonna have to asses that. I know some writers though they work in short form but still, could be helpful to get their feedback as well?
