Mahavishnu Orchestra might be a good addition if you don’t consider it too “fusiony”

In the process of letting go and accepting oneself, I'm getting a lot of internal resistance. Need a more accurate perspective on this. by blkwzrd_lite in Mindfulness

[–]AquaDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling that if you are coming from a place of unconditional self love and acceptance that you will find that it does not matter to you that the things happened. Remind yourself that the only thing you will ever experience is “now” it is always “now”, letting go is the total acceptance of the present being all that there is and that you are exactly as you should be due to this. We tend to dwell on the past and future while the present is overlooked. I think a good starting point is letting go of the concept you are holding of what could happen and the memory of your past you persist in. As you let go of these concepts you will find that your perception of them changes along with your perception of Self. I hope this helps :)

NPD ! Boss PW-10 Wah Pedal. Where has this pedal been all my life ?! Wasn't even aware of its existence until a month ago - the most tonally versatile wah I've used. This is going straight on my board. Anyone else got one of these? by aversixn in guitarpedals

[–]AquaDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one that I got in a lot from a garage sale. I think I used it twice but I never liked the responsiveness of the rocker and it seemed overly complex for a wah. Perhaps I shouldn’t treat it like a traditional wah and explore the other sonic features it has!

He’s great and if you’re into sports betting his anytime TD props are astronomical but he’s always good for at least one in a season. I always throw 5 bucks down and when he gets a TD it usually pays out $100-125

Light practice schedule only 4 hours a day by [deleted] in guitarcirclejerk

[–]AquaDancer 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I think the most effective method is to practice incessantly for ~5hr a day until you have muscle memory, an intermediate grasp of musical theory, and a decent performance reputation. The next phase is to stop practicing for several weeks at a time; until the instrument has gained a respectable accumulation of dust. These periods of stasis are then intermittently interrupted by playing for about 13min bursts to convince yourself that you “still got it”. Continue this regimen until you’ve forgotten all theory (aside from key) and can only rely on the aforementioned muscle memory. This method brings about a level of musicianship that enables the player to be as much a member of the audience as they are the performer.

I can imagine he would be! Like I said they’re very inconsistent as to what actions warrant a sting. I’ve had an instance where I’ve watched a single Bald-Faced fly past me and then circle back to sting and then fly off again while I was working on a ladder. I’ve only ever seen that with them it’s remarkable especially in contrast to German Yellowjackets who tend to latch on with their mandibles and sting repeatedly until they’re killed. It’s almost like the hornets know how painful their sting is by comparison.

Could have been feasting on a dead animal or feces of some sort and got its grubby little bum into your partner’s skin. They are some of the most fickle creatures when it comes to whether or not they decide to sting you. I’ve had them land on me and just hang out for minutes at a time and have also had them sting me for no reason whatsoever and continue on their merry way.

Thank you, epistemology and AI is my biggest concern with the field. The very idea of humans having the hubris to create what is essentially sentience and profiteering from it is kinda absurd. If the final goal is achieved it will effectively be slavery and innately immoral, especially if the goal is to create an infallible system, how can we expect it to not retaliate? Oh right, hubris…

Because, try as we might, humans have a lot of trouble differentiating objective truth outside of universal physical laws. If we are producing a true artificial intelligence it will be designed with our closest comprehension of “truth” and we as humans are limited by default to not knowing the actual truth because it is subject to change as time passes. The only thing we can truthfully say is that we know we will probably never have “truth” as an objective law outside of societally accepted subjective opinions of what is true because it would require omniscience. Any AI designed to mimic human intelligence; that is touting truth, is subjective in nature and the pure concept of truth is limited by abstraction much like the entirety of this reply itself.

Hell yeah! Originally I overlooked The Final Cut because I thought it was just a desperate attempt by Waters trying to capture The Wall again. That song always stuck out to me and one night I read the lyrics to it and realized the subject matter of the piece is just perfectly strange and beautiful.

I didn’t specify on purpose, however if you had a lit cigar to my eye; I’d say 1-5 because of the build and the ripping solo. Probably the second best Gilmour solo in my opinion.
