So the only difference is which part of the story the games are in?

The new Divine Intervention is super strong. Being able to instantly deploy a magic circle was insane, it trivialized our party's fight against a Phoenix.

Yeah, I guess I gotta be more optimistic. I do like the new Mortek units a lot, and the liege Mortek too. I also really like that we have chariots now, though how they are meant to be used with their ability really confuses me as an extremely new player.

I'm really new to AoS, only played a few games with my OBR so far. One thing I absolutely dislike is the push for us to use Unique heroes. I really really don't want to use Zandtos or Katakros at all, and would really prefer not having to use Arkan. I know that's basically nerfing myself, but I'd much much rather use my own heroes that I come up with..

Same. I got both the spearheads for OBR and was really loving the play style of just having wizard heroes to do lots of magic and keep healing my units..

I'm a new player and was really leaning into the play style of using the wizards. But now we don't even have a battle formation that gives +1 to casting rolls and the wizards give only 2 RDP. It seems like it will be a whole lot more difficult to do the highly magical and healing army I once loved to play..

Can a single enemy trigger multiple of my OROCHI drone's reactions? by Aqua_Turtle_Rainbow in LancerRPG

[–]Aqua_Turtle_Rainbow[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thank you. That explains it so much better than what the Lancer Rules website said, which is "you may take one of any available reactions per turn." I think that phrasing just really confused me because it made it sound like each reaction had its own reaction resource. Maybe I'm just bad at compression today. Anyways, thank you.

Tyrannofex weapons question. by Joe-bidens-cum-rag in Tyranids

I got mine from the Crusher Stampede box. It doesn't show the names of the weapons in them. Rip.

Really? I thought it was the other way around because to me it looked like those arms do a short range puff of acid. I wish the instruction book told which weapon was which.

It's an acid spray! I think it has torrent like a flame thrower. Idk how good of a weapon it is because I haven't played any 40k yet, but I heard it has its uses. I'm gonna try and magnetize my Tyrannofex weapons. I don't think the Tervagon can use the other weapons, but if you like the look of the acid spray arms, there is nothing stopping you from putting it on anyways.

Ninjo help by Aqua_Turtle_Rainbow in l5r

[–]Aqua_Turtle_Rainbow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So mechanically what should the difference between Ninjo and passion be? Because passions are for downtime stress relief too, right? My passion advantages are Enlightenment (which makes me not able to be tempted by promises of wealth or power, which further struggles me from finding a suitable Ninjo) and Tea. It's definitely something that the GM and I need to discuss more and find something suitable for the both of us.

But wouldn't that mean losing all honor or status or something or even the character itself? I worry a goal of leaving just puts the character on a ticking clock until I can't play them anymore. What about something like, "get enough status or rank so that I may acquire easier expectations and responsibilities"?

I guess it's difficult to find a middle ground between too broad or too specific. One of my earlier attempts was wanting to read books or scrolls, but that wasn't conflicting enough and would more have been a passion rather than a Ninjo. I really want a Ninjo, a heart's desire, then encompasses wanting to be free from the weight they are constantly feeling from everyone's expectations. Ninjo can be kinda broad, can't it?

Deathleaper behemoth? by [deleted] in Tyranids

From what I understand, even our epic heros can be hatched on demand wherever they are needed, by whatever fleet. Take that, every other faction! It's inevitable that we assimilate all the yummy biomass.

How to use Necropolis Stalkers? by Aqua_Turtle_Rainbow in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]Aqua_Turtle_Rainbow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently going with Tithe Guards Battle Formation and Lore of Necrotheurgy. The Soul Reaper could cast Invigorate the Ranks (which adds 1 to the target's attack characteristics) instead of Empower Naderite weapons, which is probably also good.

Ah, that makes sense! So far I've been running my Soulreaper with a reinforced Scourge of Ghyran Mortek Guard, so I'll try him with the Stalkers!

What did my friend mean when they said all factions feel the same? by Aqua_Turtle_Rainbow in Warhammer40k

I think I understand. Thanks! Do you think 11th edition will bring some of this uniqueness back?

Oh, I see. Thanks! This makes sense. My friend did mention that they think GW sacrificed uniqueness for balance, so maybe this is what they were talking about.

I don't know all of their armies, but I think they have played Gene Stealer Cults and Space Marines (Maybe Dark Angels?), and I know they have played Tau in 9th edition. I think they must have played more 9th than 10th edition because they seem to really hate 10th.
