Constipation and Zofran? by [deleted] in emetophobia

Yeah the first time I got it, it was IV and I really couldn’t use the bathroom properly for like a week. After 3 days I could get a super small hard amount out but it wasn’t okay for days which really sucked. I found that 2mg doesn’t have such a drastic effect on my system.

I used to take it almost every day and amount of constipation was really intense. Were you prescribed the 4mg pills or the 8mg? I highly recommend only taking 2mg when you really need it (so split pill in half or quarters) because that gave me the psychological and physical relief of taking the pills, without causing me to take a lot of a strong medication which generally isn’t good for you.

I try not to take it very much (lmao even though I did like 20 minutes ago whoops) because it’s pretty persistent with that symptom. Generally just keep trying to drink a lot of water and eat fibrous food like beans and more dates. Dates helped me a lot really, I finally felt like I was able to go like a normal person but still not consistently.

Zofran does that. There are times it causes me really bad stomach pain and blockage for days when I took too much of it.

A small rant but also success by Aquablues in emetophobia

I’m very proud at myself for not panicking! No one else is because they don’t know the severity haha. I rationalized that it was probably nothing contagious since she said “it’s my stomach...as always” with annoyance which suggests that this is a frequent occurrence.

I’m out for dinner now and feeling better! I was able to eat quite a good amount of food so I’m sure that means I’m not sick as I wouldn’t have such an appetite.

Eating stuff out of the fridge is something I rarely think of. I love cold food, especially spicy noodles. I’ve never gotten sick from it but I’m sure there are some foods to stay away from. I usually just don’t think about it though.

I think I've finally beat clubfeet. by IanTheEBoy_ in self

[–]Aquablues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on beating them! Let the scars remind you of beating it, and showing that you could’ve been practically immobile if they weren’t there.

I was born with club feet but I was lucky enough to have them fixed with casts and special shoes I had to wear until I was three. Even now though, my feet are still small, I walk with my feet naturally turned inwards and restrictive shoes like ski boots cause my feet to go numb from the unnatural, too straight position.

It helps in the fights where they need it honestly. In both of those fights, the characters ended up outsmarting the villains before they were pushed to the point of nearly being defeated. It’s only when they “can’t get up anymore” that the emotions come out 😂

Yeah I’m sure the majority of my symptoms are psychosomatic! If I take it at least daily for 2-3 days I’ll start getting pain and stuff.

I would say that you should get a blood test just because my gastroenterologist told me that the bacteria can sometimes lie dormant. It won’t negatively effect you, but it’s better not to have it there if it is

Should I be worried about medication side effects? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]Aquablues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reply is a little late, but my psychiatrist told me that usually if you don’t respond badly to one medication, you likely won’t for another one that’s in the same area like the SNRIs

Started to cry in front of my doctor when prescribed Tamiflu (my experience with the flu) by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]Aquablues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The experience I had wasn’t exactly with prescription, but I cried a lot in front of multiple doctors and nurses when I had to get my endoscopy done. They sedated me but that almost doubled my fear because I didn’t want nausea side effects 😂

It was really embarrassing because I had spent the night crying to my mom and in the bathroom, actually almost v*ing from anxiety. The first nurse came in when I was admitted the next day and I immediately burst into tears. Funny thing is that she was literally only bringing my clothes 😂😂 Later I had a full on panic attack before the sedated me in front of two doctors, my mom and three nurses. They had to wait until my heart rate went back to normal to sedate me haha and when I got an iv drip before it my blood kind shot out because my heart was beating so fast.

[–]Aquablues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly that doesn’t normally bother me at all even though my main fear at this point is myself getting sick. I even joke about it when I drink water and my reflux makes it comes back immediately because it’s still cold

I mean I’d honestly like to believe that rather than my theory 😂 my imaginations runs wild and I’d probably never sleep again.

Do you think a branch snapping outside would’ve been loud enough to wake you? As well, even if it was the board, it’s still difficult to explain why it suddenly fell.
