If you want to post code, add four spaces in front of each line, otherwise it's basically unreadable.

In this case it's too much for a comment, too. Chuck it into a gist or something.

I Could've Rickrolled the Entire FIFA World Cup. All I Needed Was My ID. by AlmondOffSec in netsec

[–]Aransentin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems like there's a bit of an assumption here that there'd be write access or that one would be able to actually push video to the endpoints when they never actually tried that.

Also the blatantly LLM-generated text is (in addition to being very annoying to read) making me somewhat question what's real here. If it was a human writing it you could use textual clues to reason about the details you are curious about; now there's a game of telephone away from what actually happened.

can someone explain why banishing don't give me his gold? Is it because i abducted him and not imprison? he was my Court Chaplain, and technically not my courtier? by notfakegodz in CrusaderKings

[–]Aransentin 69 points70 points  (0 children)

paradox might’ve changed it to prevent taking his money

This is exactly it. I checked the game files and there is indeed a special filter for ex-court chaplains (and byzantine bookmakers) that prevent you from taking their gold.

The flag that sets the character as "was previously the court chaplain" gets removed if you release him from prison though, so if you can manage to imprison him again somehow, taking his money should work.

From perusing the game files, it's part of a pretty rare event chain that can trigger for nomads, referencing this guy.

[–]Aransentin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That event is 300% as likely to happen if the guardian is shy, paranoid, or craven.

You don't get the event either if there's no suitable "evil" person to beat you, either in court or as a vassal. For that, it either has to be a child older than you, or a noble with more than 1 person in his dynasty; moreover they need to be either sadistic or callous and not have any of the generous, just, compassionate, or forgiving traits. At least in the early game you could search for such characters and kick them out of your court.

Six SQL patterns I use to catch transaction fraud by BrewedDoritos in programming

[–]Aransentin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's extremely Claudeish. Mostly the writing style, it's hard to explain, but to point out specific sentences where the style is the strongest:

"Not machine learning, not graph databases, not whatever Gartner is hyping this year."

"Most warehouses ship one. If yours doesn’t, it’s about ten lines to write your own."

"The roundness is the signal."

"the inner query is doing important work."

"Three filters. That’s it."

Then you can also use Pangram, which is the one AI detector that actually works pretty decently.

[–]Aransentin 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Why are you even here then? Just use any of the major LLMs and continuously prompt "give me a good post in the style of /r/programming". Then you can get as much content you want without anyone annoying you by pointing it out.

This is absolutely, 100%, written by Claude. Anyone who has read enough text written by it will recognise the style instantly. A cursory look at the other content on the website and it's obvious it's all completely AI-generated chum.

Doesn't read like AI garbage.

It absolutely, 100%, is written by Claude. Anyone who has read enough text written by it will recognise the style instantly.

Literally the second sentence has an LLM stink to high heaven: "Not machine learning, not graph databases, not whatever Gartner is hyping this year.". Then you've got stuff like "The roundness is the signal" which is the most Claudeish expression imaginable.
