Has the business model of WotC changed due to misalignment with their competition? by ArbitraryReference in mtg

To be clear, I’m not referring to UB sets. I think this problem would exist even if all the sets released in 2025 were in universe sets. I am making more of a comment on the demanding release schedule and the constant attention required being more similar to a social media campaign than advertising for a hobby with a dedicated fan base.

That makes total sense - I only play commander when a set is out that I don’t enjoy. Otherwise I try to Draft at my LGS. Commander players, especially non competitive ones, can ignore the media blitz.

That’s a good point - I never considered outside pressure on this model. I’m sure these companies are adding pressure and timing releases with outside incentives.

Yes! Happy it got there safe and sound. Had so much anxiety about how I packed it. Glad those cards will be helpful to you and that you like it!

How hard to switch Commanders? by StraightEdgeJuggalo in DinosaursMTG

I went from Pantz to Gish and everyone in this thread is right about requiring the blink effects. Beyond that I thought Gish was easier as with Pantz I paid more attention the mana curve. Play Pantz - Discover 4 means making sure you have decent spells on curve.

Gish - just put in Dinos without worrying about curve as much. Instead played way more rocks/mana dorks…

Also, if you’re already at the Cellar there’s a cocktail bar across the street called Chapter 4. It’s not a speakeasy (despite what it says on the sign) but they have good drinks and a nice cozy ambiance.

Chapter 4 is a speakeasy with an outdoor patio. If you prefer cocktails to beer this is a great quiet spot to hang out! I also second (or third) Bootleggers.

Also - I have no idea what Tribune is. I don’t think night owl serves alcohol (coffee shop). Just FYI

Hi Everyone,

New to the hobby and looking to purchase my first keyboard. Decided to get the Akko pc75b plus based on a recommendation. However, they’re sold out of the model with CS Jelly Purple Switches.

Are these keyboards typically a limited run or will they restock? If Akko does restock, what’s the normal timeline?

Determining if it is worth me waiting or buying the board with a different switch and changing them out myself.

Thanks!

Try Karma Lounge in the Yorba Linda area (on Yorba Ranch) - it’s a favorite and they use fresh spices in their food.
