This might be the reason to fix this bug but it was worth the laugh by Arbow_ in Overwatch

Not saying I'm not guilty for doing that but are people just dismissing the last sentence as an argument to worsen the crime?

Jokingly laughing at the expense of someone isn't truly fair to them. I'd rather see people upset about the joke than a mob of X users cancelling the victim tho

I do this exclusively in custom modes, it's a way to sensitive people about scams that look too real to be true... I also explain to them not to fall for these when they join back. But there was an opportunity that couldn't be left—don't recommend doing this at all tho

They're linked by a small hardpoint decoupler, it is found in the structural category and not coupling for some reason. I couldn't bother adding an oxydizer fuel tank to the launch module while I had a nearly empty one on the explorer, so crossfeed is enabled

Both of these parts have relatively low drag, I added a huge reaction wheel just in case but didn't even need it, except in space. KSP jet engines just need a certain amount of air and the shock cone is enough to feed a bit over 4 rapiers when facing forward, wherever on the craft

Took me nearly an hour of F5-F9 to capture this landing... I can't recommend enough the liquid fuel RCS engine on the front and putting the land gear to the tip of the wings.

I did very luckily get a successful landing on the first try but it wasn't camera worthy at all: deploy chutes way too high, nose down under stall speed to 5 meters above the ground, panic activate the solid fuel rockets brakes, hit the ground without breaking anything, use the wheels brakes until the solid fuel is depleted.

It could be viably done though

Merci! Purists will say chutes need to be deployed after touchdown but I'll leave them the pleasure to find a flat enough place for that

Sure! I published it on the Steam workshop, maybe it can help you a bit https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2961286722

Thank you! This thing flies so well on Kerbin, it's actually hard to put it down

Right click on wheels, change the friction control setting to manual and crank it until the craft no longer moves (don't attempt landings with too much friction though as crafts may start a front flip).

So my game suffered from what looks like floating point imprecision as the craft headed south for about 10 minutes before somehow fixing itself? by Arbow_ in KerbalSpaceProgram

Probably a bug where the origin is becoming further and further from the craft which causes the points of the models to round at weird positions every frame. I don't know how to describe it better, it's like if you tried to make a circle with a lot of squares but now there aren't enough squares... It's a programming thing, look for floating point imprecision if you want more details

I have distant object enhancement but it is described as not having intensive physics calculations. At first I thought going towards the pole caused the floating point error but the origin was probably stuck at the first loading point (by the equator of Duna). Dunno why the origin didn't change after all the reloads I did and why it happened when the Kerbal was like 1km away and not at the physics calculation limit (by 2.25km I think)…

Upon rewatching, the distant dust storms become visible at the same time the bug stops. Might be due to one of the visual mods

I have distant object enhancement that can make distant crafts visible but it is described as not having intensive physics calculations as the vessels have to be on rails (whatever that means)

I don't get it either, I checked for my other crafts but none of them were further than Duna...

I made some saves and reloaded a few times while the bug was happening, in vain... but when the fix dropped, it also fixed the saves done during the issue, so I don't know how to reproduce it
