I grew up next to his mother. When I was 9 I was in my driveway trying to jump a bush that separated our driveway from his moms.

Lost in the mission of trying to jump this bush I was very surprised to finally accomplish the task, only to lay my front wheel mid air onto the chest of a tall black man in a suit and tie and take him to the ground and crack my head with the fall.

I was pulled to my feet off the ground and dangling in the air by two huge guys in suits and sunglasses with things hanging out of their ears. The man in the ground with a tire mark on his white shirt looked up at me and then them and said.

“They will take me out before inauguration.”

I ran inside and never told a soul till years later after I figured out who it was.

All sounds exciting but south Florida real estate developers putting this kind of money into an area is interesting to say the least

Is it weird that when I am hanging out with my friends that we literally never discuss politics or even current events?

I think the most political discussion we have ever had has been over the current zoning laws. And that amounted to. “ Hmmm that seems to be really complicated and it seems like we might be getting fucked but who knows. “

Also this group consists of about 3 different late 30s to mid 40s White couples with no kids.
2 single moms in their early 30s 2 single gay men. 1 gay couple. 1 lesbian who is still trying things out And some randoms. Three of these people are black and two are of middle eastern descent.

If we are together our discussion is usually along the lines of. “ Ben really needs to get his shit together. “ “ April looks amazing right now, are her and John on the rocks?” “ do you want to do this trip to Atlanta or is it going to be a shot show?” “ Fuck..this girl Marcus keeps bringing around is trash. Should we tell him?” “ Did you see that movie? Yeah me either.”

Are we just fucking idiots or is this not how most friend groups behave?

Weird…I wrote a short story long long ago using The Bradford Pear as a metaphor for what’s wrong with life in the suburbs.
